I liked Spike's explantion for the need for money, shame it wasn't on the show

By the way,why did she come back to his crypt anyways?Was it to break up with him,or was it to say what she whispered after him in the end of the chap?
To chastise him, more than likely. I had to have that breakup scene...so I had to get her back to his crypt. Besides, Riley was gone--what else was she going to do? But it definitely wasn't to tell him that she loved him.

I knew sadness was on its way when Riley came into the picture, but I do like that Spike breaks up with her...very nice.
It never made sense to me the other way around--even if nothing had changed between them like in my fic. Her dumping him made the sense that's not to me.

I am so glad to see Spike stand up for himself! What a relief - this is what I wanted to see in canon - it makes so much more sense. Thank you!

"Sorry. It's just ... you still carry around all that James Bond stuff. It's so cute! I forgot." I'va always hated that Buffy flirted with Riley when he came back. And here she took his every word. She kinda deserved to have Spike break up with her.
I still had her flirt with him a bit, but at I did also have her realize she didn't love him. Brownie points for that, right? Even though, she was still so blind... Thanks for reviewing ;D

Exactly- Buffy would never learn if someone didn't point out to her how much of a bitch she'd been- and I didn't want to see our Spike suffer any longer ;)

oh don't apologize for the break up, love!! i think it's great that he stood up for himself, told her off for her betrayal...excellent chapter, looking forward to seeing what happens next :)
Thanks :D Yea, "As You Were" (as I'm sure you're aware) made me want to vomit. It should've been Spike calling things off, and not her.

Yeah, Buffy... she's a special girl, and in spit of everything she's been through, sheltered in a lot of ways. It'll get better though :D
