It has taken me to chapter 7 to remember that I haven't reviewed yet because I don't really want to pause. So far this is the best story I have read in a long time, I can't believe it is going to stay at this pace for just under 60 chapters. Loving it. Gotta go, chapter 8 calls. :)

Buffy really is going to be seperated from the group if this continues soon. It's clear Willow already feels uncomfortable with her, and Giles is doubting her ability to kill Angelus. This isn't the time to be on the outside, what with Angelus being known for his head games.
Spike is really going to get it. As if the abuse and the nightmares weren't enough, now he has Angelus around. And Dru revealing just how weak he is. And this is not a group wou want to appear week in front of. I wonder how he will feed if he can't bite, and what Angelus will do with this info

yeah, buffy's sort of alienating herself without meaning to...willow's insecurities are leading her to believe that buffy would choose even angelus (rather than angel) over her, and giles doesn't trust her judgment right now...
and spike is definitely in for it, though it probably wont get as bad as most people expect from me...

All I can say is...poor Spike! What's going to happen when Angelus realizes how helpless he is? Are Spike and Buffy going to meet soon...maybe become allies? They're both so damaged...they need each other! Great chapter, as always...thank you!
not telling what's going to happen, but it will be full of lots of twists and such :) thanx, love, glad you're so into it :)

Perhaps "nice" wasn't such a good word to use- more tolerable, perhaps? Understanding? Then again, Angelus is kinda insane at this point, cause of being trapped with the soul for so long, so yea, I was probably reaching with that ;)
lol... :P yeah, angelus seemed almost worse to me after he'd had the soul for a while (as in, all with the insane world ending kick :P lol)

Aah! Your Angelus is quite horrifying, excellent characterization! Poor Spike, it doesn't sound like he's going to be getting a break anytime soon, between the torture from Walsh to what awful things I'm sure will happen while he's with Angelus... lovely chapter, can't wait for the next one!

Gosh, you'd think Angelus would be nicer- it's not like Spike made him feel things like Buffy had... He's just been tortured! And Dru abandoned him... can't wait till Spike gets better.
And Buffy is soooo in denial- she knew Angel had his soul after the ritual...

yeah, but in my opinion angelus was probably rarely "nice" to spike...
and buffy, she's suspecting the truth, but not wanting to believe it, so of course she'd jump at the idea of anything else to explain it (probably especially since it involves the oh-so-convenient blaming of Spike :P) thanx for your review, love :)

He suppressed a smile of almost shy pride at his deduction, a smile that would have been highly inappropriate, given the circumstances under which they had met. --- *leaving out arrow this time i guess* I don't understand this line

okay, to explain that line, it's referring to xander -- who never figures out much of anything compared to the other, smarter characters... hence the "smile of almost shy pride at his deduction" -- and the smile would have been pretty inappropriate, given the circumstances..they're all there because angelus is back and just attacked and almost raped willow...so...smiling/preening over one's cleverness is sort of out at the moment :P
does that make it a bit clearer?

Buffy may have dodged the bullet for now but they're wasting valuable time reseaching for nothing and she knows it. Hope Dru is lucid enough to kill the girl just before she gives her to Spike. You've laid out what's his fate, the moment Angelus knows his situation. You know me, can't stand for him to be tortured. Thanks DOS, great work.
well, she doesn't *know* it...she's grabbing onto anything she can that might help disprove her fears...
and as for spike's fate, it's not been laid out so clearly as you seem to think ;) like i said before, this fic is going to have minimal torture of the "poor spike" variety (at least, minimal for one of my fics :P) lol

Oh I meant to mention......great job of paralleling the two in this story. Buffy and Spike are both going through the same things emotionally just in different ways. This time Buffy was cornered about how Angel lost the soul just as Spike is being cornered about the chip. All the chapters have dovetailed perfectly....they're dancing already without even being in the same building!

Oh oh....BAD news for Spike once Aneglus finds out just how vulnerable he is!
Just ike the Scoobies to immediately suspect Spike as the source of all things gone butt over fedora. Buffy KNOWS the real timing although looking at that ritual is an acceptable thing to do anyway. Hope she confesses soon for all their sakes.
Excellent update hon. Lots of tension building and Maggie the mangler waits in the wings.....chills!

yeah, it's typical of buffy for her to be denial-girl, and grab onto anything that might help disprove her suspicions about that night she spent with angel...and angelus finding out about the chip would be a bad thing for sure :(

oh boy....... great chapter but poor spike...Angelus is going to eat him alive with him like this! Will he run to the Scooby's already? Can't wait for the next update!
