Spike has angel's soul!? What a twist!

I love this story, but then I've enjoyed every story I've read of yours so far. I've been reading this fic, wondering where you were gonna go with this idea of having Spike captured by the initiative in season two, and I gotta say I never saw this coming at all. I love this innovative little plot twist. You're turning every thing on it's head with this. Who says Spike can't lie like a rug when it's a matter of undeath and uh - death? Gotta go read the new update now. Can't wait to see Buffy's reaction. :)

I TOTALLY did not see that coming! The Scoobies never did give Spike enough credit. He can be quite crafty when his impulsiveness doesn't get the better of him. And you are quite crafty with the plots :)

Whoa... didn't see *that* coming! Spike's a bit smarter than we gave him credit for! Of all the things he could've come up with, that really is perfect. Buffy wants to believe it, so she'll row happily up that river, and Jenny can't mention the happiness clause without giving herself away. And Spike's sitting pretty with his new unstakable self, without revealing the vulnerability of being chipped. Well played, Spike... and well crafted, DoS!

OMG! what a great chapter! If he had a soul he would not of threathen them from the moment he was conscious, he is a fast thinker though, that's why he's been around so long. What a brilliant scheme. Have them convinced that he's one of the good guy's and how to get the soul sucked out of him too? Well we know of one way, don't we! Perfect DOS and thanks for not torturing him to much this time. That was so much fun, thanks.

The last paragraph pretty much proves that Spike isn't stupid, just impulsive and prone to disregarding plans. I'm sure Buffy will immediately jump on his out and deny that anything else could've possibly taken Angel's soul. And I'm pretty sure Jenny will know better--but is she going to mention it? I'm really enjoying this--and am looking forward to what will happen next.

And I love where Buffy is at here. In this situation, here harshness toward Spike is completely appropriate. Except in the way that it's not. He's been her enemy; he was willing to kill Angel to heal Dru; he's a soulless monster who doesn't mind killing and hurting others. However badly he's been hurt by the Initiative and Angel, he's still a prime candidate for the pointy end of Buffy's stake. BUT, Buffy's own motives are hardly pure here, since she wants to blame him for Angel's de-souling and avoid taking responsibility for her own actions. I just love the way you've created a situation where Buffy is both right and wrong at the same time! Add in all the other swirling emotions in play (Willow's feeling of betrayal, Jenny Calendar's secrets) and we have the makings of a really great story. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

First, to clear up, my comment about this story not being like your others was not a slam on your other work. Its like when Stephen King writes a history book: Its startling to realize he did it, because it is so unlike his style.

Now, for this chapter, nice to see Spike all inteligent-like and knowing how to play on Buffy's emotions. The lie about the soul is perfect, it hides the fact about the chip, and gain im more freedom.

I hope there is a moment where Buffy askes how to transfer the soul of Angel to Spike, and Spike lies again and says he doesn't want to get rid of it. Then, Giles and Buffy get in a big tiff over the morality of removing a soul to give it to someone else (Giles on the side of rather having the Slayer of Slayers on his side and just staking Angelus)

One more thing: It would be very evil, but brilliant, if Jenny did a spell, discovered the lie, but decided that due to her clan's hate of Angelus, it would be better to play along with Spike and dust Angelus. Thus, the two form an alliance to drive Buffy into ending Angelus.

Wow, what a plot twist...the cliffhangers need to stop, I'm dying from suspense here! LOL, great update; can't wait to see more. Thanks!!

Definitely unbelievable -- Angel was okay after the ritual, surely it was post-shag that it went AWOL.

Oh clever Spike! Buffy can't call him a liar without revealing her own lie LOL. Now that he's "got a soul" he can hope to be treated better and the Slayer is stuck! Brilliant!!!!

I think Jenny will give him away in time (but maybe only confront HIM instead of revealing to the group) because I am certain SHE knows the truth, or at least suspects it.

I wish Buffy were a bit more tender to Spike. She wasn't this hard at this point in the story but then again she is rather desparate to cover her own culpability so it isn't totally out of character. This is also not so long after the Order of Taraka business too so Spike would be "on her list".
