I am enjoying the premise of this story, but not that Buffy keeps resorting to violence. Didn't she mature at all in teh time Spike was gone?

You know, Buffy does need to learn she can't just hit out physically. But I think he actually deserves it this time. I never thought I would ever say this, but I really don't like this Spike.

He stays away from Buffy for years. Then he comes back and blatantly lies to her. The girl already has trust issues - and frankly, I don't blame her. I think she has a valid point about the chip - what else has he lied about?? Mate, chip.... the list goes on.

I hope you can change my mind, and I await the next installment with curiosity.

oh man...this could get ugly...but at least he's not putting up with her abuse anymore...maybe she'll learn that she can't treat him like that...and that he would be willing to sacrifice himself for dawn is so sweet, once buffy hears that part she'll feel really bad for the way she's treating him now :( great chapter, love, thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Just got caught back up with this story. I have to admit that I had my doubts about the mate thing, but convinced myself that I was being paranoid. I loved the prophecy. I had to read it several times. It is wonderfully written and has such a great cadence and poetry to it, too bad really that it has to foretell doom. ; ) Buffy's reaction at the end of this chapter struck me as odd. My first thought was how could she be wondering about the chip when she just found out that he doesn't have a mate. But then I remembered Spike saying something about conditions for him working with the Council. I wonder if that was it. Still loved this story. Can't wait for more.

Buffy is even dumber than I thought if she believes he's just waiting for a chance to kill her. She really doesn't know him at all, does she?

Oh, I've been waiting for this. OH, poor Buffy really, her life is a rollar coaster out of control. So many people lying to her and most of the lies she really have no clue about, yet. Now, the chip is gone, and soon she will have to be the one to chose which of her loved ones must die. Spike and Giles think this will be easy, but we all know that it will crush her if they can't find a way to save those she loves. Brilliant prophecy you made up.....I wonder if Buffy will decide she will die instead to save those she loves, oh you have me worrying, LOL. I'm so addicted to this story, it's not even funny, LOL

This just keeps getting better. Wonderful, wicked plot twist. And Buffy's discovery that Spike is now chipless - a truly inspired cliffie. You're kinda evil, and I love that. :)

I am glad that Spike found a way to save Dawn, but I don't want him dead either.

Oh yeah, he's got one pissed off slayer on his hands. Can't wait to find out what happened to his chip. The Council maybe, since he's been working for them? Sorry RL's been rough lately, update when you can. Love this, thanks sweetie, great chappie.

Buffy is such a child!!

I always hated the way that Buffy beat up on Spike and it is nice to see that come to a halt. And I like the way that he defended himself without hitting her back but only restraining her--shows his character! I have to admit being relieved that there is no mate and intrigued with Buffy's possible reactions to Spike's plan. Waiting anxiously until your next update...
