Ooooh going to be QUITE the group gathered at Giles' home. Two souled vampires with the unexpected one actually in love with the Slayer and accepting the soul as a good thing....the other wishing it gone again along with the depth of his "love" for Buffy.......hum......

Love Buffy being willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Of course at this time in the storyline she WOULD have....her hardness of heart only began to show after Angel left for LA and Riley left too. By S5 she had a hard shell that Spike was only STARTING to penetrate before she killed herself on the tower. This Buffy can still love in return and not care if the object of her love is human or not.

ok, so Spike was chipped, Angel lost his sould, the chip has been removed, Angel's got his sould back but doesn't want it, Spike also has gotten his soul, and had a vision of canon from "story now" till the end. And he's in love with Buffy, but isn't happy about her treatment of him in the future. And all this happened in a week or so?
I think I have it all straight, but if the folks in the buffyverse are confused, it's entirely understandable!

Love an unchipped Spike. Always hated that he couldn't defend himself from humans thaat were as bad or worst then any demon they'd come across. Glad you are portraying Angel regretting the return of his soul. I think many of us can easily see him never wanting it back anytime it was returned. Angelus loved his demon and the destruction it could cause. This is about to become very interesting. Great chapter, thanks DOS.

Good to remember the torture. Yes, Angelus was the torturer, and Spike liked to just fight...but Spike tortured a few people...that's how he got his name. Good memory!

I'm finding the parallel journeys of souled Spike and souled Angel totally fascinating. I love this side of Angel's character you've chosen to explore...come to think of it, why WOULDN'T he regret the loss of his freedom? Amazing chapter, as usual. Alia

Oh, Spike has really made a decent mess of things, hasn't it? Wouldn't have been surprised if she just tried to stake him after all the back and forthing.
