Poor Spike, talking about walking a tight rope and hoping not to fall off, As mad as Buffy is, she's going to wind up shoving him off it she doesn't like what he's saying even if she knows it's true. Sorry for not reading for this last month, been in the hospital twice and I'm just getting back to reading again. I hope Willow isn't making a big mistake. She doesn't know Liam at all. He may not be Angelus, but he's not much better either. Thanks for the great chapter.

Soemthing tells me that while Willow may discover that this is not the Angel she knew, he's going to be able to control her, through guilty feelings or what-have-you, well enough that she won't tell the others. But then, I'm used to how painful your stories can get. ;)
And don't think I've forgotten that Maggie Walsh is still out there with some impact yet to play out.

ok, Willow is SO not thinking straight. And Buffy needs to get out of lala land - she should be at least a bit more sympathetic to her friend - I think I'd be a bit more sympathetic to a complete stranger! Sheesh.
WHY did Jenny let them botch the spell that badly? Couldn't she have directed Willow to something better?
BUT what will it do to Buffy if Willow gets hurt now? And if this happened before - or, rather, if Spike saw this in the future, shouldn't he realize that Willow is about to go beard the lion?

nope, willow's messing up...and jenny's talented with magic, but that doesn't mean she knows everything, and she had no idea that angel's soul that he was cursed with was not really his own...she had no reason to think that a different spell to return his soul would do any harm....
as for spike's visions, he's seen the future, but as it would have been if he had *not* seen it....
so, as things gradually change due to his knowledge of the future, the visions he's already had will be less and less accurate...you see what i mean?

Big ass mistake, Rosenberg. BIG mistake... that's not being a grown up- it's being damn stupid. Wait- Spike might see this coming though, right? *sigh* Gotta wait- I know, I know...
well, he might..but the thing is, he saw the future as it was before things started changing...he saw it as it would have been had he not seen it, you see? so...as things start to turn out differntly due to his knowledge of the future, his knowledge might be less and less accurate...you see?

why do I have the feeling willow is going to return the favor to angel...failing to realize this isn't brood boy but drunk boy.
Buffy managed to avoid the reveal...now, what will Spike do with this power? He has something powerful over Buffy's head...I think its time for a deal to secure his life.

Well, according to Doyle (with info straight from the PTBs), Angel always had "his own soul". Doyle says it when he's first trying to recruit Angel in "City Of...", Season 1:1.
Not to say that DoS can't put her own spin on the soul issue, of course. :) But in canon, Angel was cursed to begin with, with his soul. It's a bit of an out to put certain behaviors with one soul vs. another. I think the bigger factor might have been that he spent all thse years in Hell right after he got the soul back. That changes a person!

lol...yeah, i dont stick too close to canon as a rule... :P i like putting my own spin on things....and remember, in this fic, angel *didn't* spend any time in hell, so that doesn't factor in at all

I fear for willow. We all know that Angel's messed up in the head but now with his original soul back in place, what will happen to poor Willow?

Oh dear! Got a terrible feeling that Willow is about to be the first to discover how low Liam really is.
I have used that rationale in a couple of my stories too and it makes so much sense. Liam was worthless and his soul equally so. I think it must have been another soul the gypsies used and lots of other "conditions" that demanded goodish behavior (although he really did nothing more than avoid humans and eating off the hoof till he spotted the lollipop eating Buffy)and lots of brooding. The differences in souls would also explain the Angel we saw after reensouling...that one was able to make "hard choices" that more resembled Liam.
Buffy is really a junior bitch isn't she? She needs to cut Spike some slack. I am sorry she has had NO sympathy for the condition she found him in originally. Talk about self absorbed! At this stage she wasn't quite that hard but her fear is sure making her seem like it.

you may be right about willow, love...and buffy needs to give spike a break, but she's too defensive about the situation with angel to really think about anything else...spike is telling her things she doesn't want to here, therefore she responds by attacking...
