Love it whenever Spike dusts Dru. I just don't want him to feel any guilt in it. Great rescue, thanks.
I think there's always gonna be a little guilt when Spike dusts Dru - 100 years of history together is hard to ignore. But given the choice between Buffy and Dru, he's not going to hesitate, and he's not going to regret it.

I love tortured Spike! Is that bad? Doesn't matter. Its one of my favorite plot points. And Oh, Oh, sweet and tender Buffy! This story is looking like it'l be even better than the previous ones.
Oh, you're not the only one who loves tortured Spike around here, lol! This one definitely takes their relationship in a different direction, but I bet it won't end up where you expect! Thanks for the review!

Wow...what a great fight sequence! Lots of action and energy in this chapter, and I can't wait to see if Buffy will tend to Spike once they get home. Wonderful job!
Thanks! Generally, I don't like writing the fighty scenes (because I never know how to describe the moves, lol) but this was pretty different, with lots of weapons and cool tricks, so it was way fun to write. :)

Glad this trilogy is going on. The last story ended and I was so disappointed after how great Spike had been and the sweet friendship being developed. Buffy had to be self-involved and scared and hurt Spike immensely, though I see hope yet for them! I am glad Spike made the choice to kill Drusilla instead of Buffy, as it means a lot more. Good chapter, good story, good trilogy
I don't think the way Love's Bitch ended was all Buffy's fault... but I knew I was gonna continue, so I didn't mind not giving y'all a happy ending. :) Thanks for the review!

what an exciting battle scene!! and when spike staked dru to save buffy..wow...very well done :) i'm so glad she got him out of there, but now he's going to need lots of tlc, poor dear :( dru really did a number on him...glad to see her being gentle with him for the moment...grat chapter, pet, looking forward to more :)
Thanks for the review! It's definitely of the good that Buffy's gentle right now - Spike's gonna need it. And from refusing to speak to him in the first chapter... I think this may have affected her almost as much as it did him. Whether it'll stick, that remains to be seen.

Very nice chapter; and excellent fight scene. The difference in Willow and Tara's light blades was a great touch.
Nice to see Buffy so caring of Spike; being gentle with him, and covering him up. There's hope for the girl yet!

Ha... I definitely heard the first line of your review in an air traffic controller "and we have liftoff!" tone of voice...

oh that was good, Spike killed Dru to save Buffy, but Buffy didn't kill her because she didn't want to hurt Spike.

Thanks for the review! That hesitation almost cost Buffy, but I think she may have inadvertently shown how much she cares for Spike by doing it.

I don't usually like fight scenes, but this one had me on the edge of my seat. Buffy's got Spike and Dru is gone... what's next? :)
Glad you enjoyed it! The fighting was fun to write, giving Willow and Tara some new powers. As for what's next... well, that's a surprise! :)

Excellent rescue! I knew Spike would stake Dru as soon as she got the upper hand with Buffy. He may well have loved his dark plum but Buffy is his heart.
Well written scene (and they are hard to do)...just the right amount of action, paced perfectly.
Nice touch of tenderness on Buffy's part to cover Spike before anyone else arrived. Very caring of his pride and dignity.

So Spike had to stake Dru....well, there wasn't any question about it by now. She burned her bridges.

I think Spike was the one who did the bridge-burning... Dru never really changed, she came back to Spike and *he* was different.

Nice rescue. Poor Spike, had to dust Dru himself. I bet that's going to leave a mark that the physical ones probably won't be able to compare with.
