Chapter: New Beginnings

So the Spike's bite didn't do anything for Willow? Guess Tara didn't have anything to worry about after all! Way to go Giles! about time he got it right as far as Willows magic was concerned. This will benefit them all. Way to go, fantastic chapter.
Nah, nothing to worry about. Not all bites are created equal. :) Thanks for all the reviews!

I really enjoyed Willow and Spike here. Back in the day (by which I mean season 4) after Oz left I suspected that Spike and Willow would end up together. They always had good chemistry! The writers had different ideas, and I do love Spike and Buffy; but it's nice to see that connection again. Oddly you rarely see it in fic!

Who *didn't* Willow have good chemistry with in season 4? Oz, Tara, Spike... even Riley in the beginning there (I thought they had more chemistry than Buffy and Riley). I like to build the Spike/Willow friendship in this fic. Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

well, hopefully although her focus still seems a little aimed in the wrong direction, giles' friend will be able to help her fix that...great chapter, love :)
Thanks for the review! I guess we'll have to wait and see how her training turns out. :)

Good chapter. Willow is very Willow-y.
Why do I get the feeling the Willow training thing isn't going to go how Giles expects?
Hmmm... maybe the training won't go how *you* expect. ;) Thanks for the review!

Book Susan works. :)

I hope they can knock some sense in power-hungry Willow.
That's the plan, anyway... and hopefully, the sense-knocking will prevent any Dark Willow appearances. :)

As always, really enjoying this fic.

And eee, Susan from Dresden Files (and book Susan, not weird tv show Susan- eh, don't even get me started), how fun! Gotta love the Dresden Files. :) (which also reminds me I still haven't bought the most recent book... off to do that now).

Back to your wonderful fic though, cannot wait for more. :)
I haven't read the new book yet, either! Thanks for the review - I'm glad you're enjoying it!

OH that was so good, Willow bringing up his trying to bite her before, to get him to bite her.

Not scaring, well you never know.

So he is going to get training for Willow, what about Tara.

Willow and Spike always did have a funny relationship... the non-bitey scene in The Initiative is so adorable, with him assuring her she's bitable and her encouraging him to try again later...

And Tara may benefit from the teacher, but she was already taught magic by her mother (rather than learning by trial and error, like Willow) so she doesn't really need instruction the way Willow does.

Great chapter. I'm glad Willow wasn't offended by the fact that Giles wanted another witch to train her.
I think Willow was lonely when she was doing magic by herself. She's enjoyed experimenting with magic with Tara, so having a teacher would be like having a more experienced Tara (except, uh, without the sexy part...).

Maybe, Giles....maybe...if she's not already too far gone down the power trip.

Free donation to Spike....just seems odd.

Yup, not Dru's style, like Spike said. The perp is still out there.
It may seem odd for Willow to let Spike bite her, but I wanted to show that Spike is gaining the trust of the Scoobies... he's winning them over one by one. He's always had Dawn on his side, and in Love's Bitch we saw Tara being sympathetic. Anya's never really had a problem with him, so all he needs to do is win over Giles and Xander... no problem, right? :)
