Well, I finally got around to reading this story. And here, I see the stuff that makes me continue to read everything else you do, even though I disagree with your portrayal of Spike.

This story fits both the show, and your style of writing, and your owbn opinion of how to right for Spike. It is a perfect blend that makes all the charecters both strong and weak...all human.

So to speak. :/

I also hear that this will be a shorter story...perhaps only one more chapter. I think that is a cunning move. While you could easily whip this into novel size, by keeping it short, you know how to make your story end with a stronger punch.

I'm a complete sucker for angst - especially well-written, rip your heart out angst, and as the queen of angst, that's exactly what you deliver in your stories. This fic looks to be another gem. I'm loving it so far, and I can't wait to see where you're going with this.

Poor Spike. I think he needs some Dawn time now to have SOMEONE with compassion forgive him and make him feel worthy of existing. Buffy needs to look at her own soul (hum.....she had one of those precious commodities when whe was abusing and beating and using Spike whereas he did not when he hurt her....). I keep expecting Xander to show up and add fuel to the fire.

Love when you get a chance to update. Love this one lots...want to cuddle Spike and make it better just like I did watching S7.

Wonder when Buffy will start to wonder who the "unreal" Buffys are and take some action here.

Thank you for writing this. I've read other fics involving Spike's "adjustment" to having a soul, and this one doesn't gloss over it like the show and those fics did. I always thought it was such a cop-out on the show that suddenly Spike was okay again, and Buffy was too.

I'm interested in where you're taking this fic, tho!

*sigh* Your stories make my heart ache, but in a good way. I'm really loving this. Poor Spike, Buffy,and Dawn.
