I was just waiting for this to happen, but I'm surprised it was so brutal. And how did Spike manage to hurt Riley? So glad Buffy just left him there. Love the mother/daughter connection!

So did Spike take a bit out of Riley? ("He was bleeding from a deep wound in his neck....") It would have fried Spike's brain, but ended the fight.

I wish Joyce on the show had given Buffy more guidance and 'permission.' I think it really would have helped her out.

Riley's gonna get it, Riley's gonna get it!! Maybe with Joyce's help Buffy can finally get over the guilt of needing Spike. Thanks for the update.
