Riley and Buffy split?  All I can say is good riddance.  I've very much engrossed in this story and I'm so glad I waited until it was completed to read it.  :)
Aww, but if you wait until it's complete, you don't get the full experience of my twelve cliffhangers in a row. :( I do so enjoy being evil.

A little sad about that breakup - Buffy really didn't need the added pain. But wow, that kiss with Spike... Wonderfully done.
Thank you! I think, when it all shakes out, Buffy will be better off because of the break-up. :)

Yay! Riley gorn! I have to say you have NeedyBuffy down exactly. She knows she doesn't love Riley, she still doesn't totally trust him or feel comfortable with him, but she clings to the security of having a relationship regardless. She should remember what she told him at the beginning, it was always doomed!
Now for the Spuffy.....
I think her reaction is more shock than anything else. Things have definitely been troubled for a while, but she seemed to think that they'd get better eventually. It was a big surprise to have him end things so abruptly. Thanks for the review!

So he has the nerve to break up with her!  Way to be supportive!  Soo in character too.
Thanks for the review! Given the way Buffy's been acting, I think Riley could tell he was on the way out whether he said something or not, so he'd rather bow out than be dumped for a vampire...

Yay! no more Riley!
Well, they broke up... doesn't mean he's gone, per se. :)

Wow - I didn't expect such a successful outcome!  Kudos - and au revoir Riley!
Heh, I don't know if Buffy will agree it was successful just yet... but give her time. :)

D=  Big fat Riley jerk.  Big jerk!!  ::flail::

Outside of gut girl reaction, though ... I am so not surprised.  It's pretty much what he did in S5, for pretty much the same reasons ... just without the ultimatum.  S'all good.  I thought you did a very nice handling of the same core problem with a different context.

As always, love the update and look forward to more!
LOL, nice gut reaction. I think you're right, it is very similar to what he did in season 5 (and I think Buffy's behavior - holding back from him - is also similar). I tend to do that, use different circumstances to illustrate the same problem, or set up a parallel situation in the fic. Even if I want to tell a different story, some of the notes feel right to stay the same.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Goodbye to Riley!  Lol, thanks for yet another wonderful update :) .  I love the pace and progression of this story.  I can't wait for the next chapter.
Thank you, although I don't think this is the last we've seen of Riley... Glad you enjoyed the chapter!

love how you brought in the "my will be done" time - a time and memory of love and devotion and sense of safety that is such a contrast to how she feels now.
Thank you! Glad you liked that allusion. I think maybe Buffy has been longing for the way she felt under the spell without even realizing it.
