Buffy is trapped in an unhappy marriage to a man who doesn't seem to want her, trapped in a world that doesn't seem to need her anymore...can an old ally and enemy, sold into her home as a slave, teach her the meaning of freedom? Buffy/Other, temporary *NOMINATED AT THE FANG FETISH AWARDS AND THE FOOL FOR LOVE AWARDS!!!*

Fourth "book" in the series that started with Spike's Will Be Done, and continued with True Colors and Ring of Fire. Like True Colors and Ring of Fire, it has been split into several sections to make life easier. Spike (soulless and unchipped) and Buffy are together in just about all senses of the word - engaged, claimed, but it's all still pretty new and in the middle of working out exactly what shape their relationship will take they have to help Dawn overcome the trauma of what happened in 'Ring of Fire'. Wes has come to Sunnydale for a 'trial period' but hasn't worked out whether he has a place there yet. The warning signs are beginning to show re Willow's magic/power issues. Anya and Xander did get married but Anya is losing patience with some of Xander's attitudes and things have also gone rather differently in LA. When it comes down to it, everyone is struggling in their own way to find happiness. Not really so much S7 yet as post an alternative S6.

Alternate reality. Buffy starts as a normal college girl. But her life is slowly turned upside down beginning with the day she’s unexpectedly in danger. Hired by chance to protect her is Spike, a vampire with a reputation for doing business with anyone for enough money. She’s less than thrilled, but finds herself drawn to him even as she realizes he’s more than he seems. But humans aren’t the only ones after her, and when she’s called as the Slayer, her whole world changes. Things with Spike, who she’s discovered some realities about, are no longer as simple as they seemed. But being sent to the Hellmouth and realizing the high death rate of her calling, Buffy hires Spike as backup with the only thing she has left—Slayer blood. Winner of 20 awards!

Season Six, Post Entropy...After Spike's encounter with Anya in the Magic Box, Buffy's not sure if she can forgive him for the hurt that she feels -- until he shows up at her door, needing her more than he ever has before...where do a Slayer with iron walls around her thrice-broken heart, and a wounded, desperate vampire go from here? Who's really to blame -- for what's happened to Spike, and for what's happened between them? Goes AU immediately after Spike leaves the bathroom in Seeing Red. After nearly committing an unspeakable crime against the woman he loves, Spike faces the ordeal of his unlife when Robot-Boy Warren discovers what his chip does and how to control it. Will Buffy be able to help him? Will she even *want* to? A/N: This story was inspired by two great fics which used the same idea, “Chain” by irfikos, and “Leashing the Beast” by Nos. This idea has been done many times, I know, but I’ve had my own ideas about it for some time and thought I’d give it a try. WARNING: Very very dark pretty much throughout the story. Involves torture, non-con m/m slash (not graphic, mostly implied), very disturbing. Spike is very badly victimized in this story. Will be Spike/Buffy pairing eventually, but will take a little while to get there.

Six months after the battle with Angelus and his forces.

The battle against the Senior Partners brought our heroes to the alley against hordes of demons. This story assumes much more was going on in the back rooms of W & H, things that lead to a group rescue effort that will involve almost all the BtVS and AtS main characters in one epic battle against evil.

Takes place in an AU where things went a little differently at the end of "What's My Line", and the Initiative came to town a bit earlier than in canon.
Spike is not paralyzed in the church that night, but his unlife is still irrevocably changed. In a misguided attempt to restore her childe, Drusilla performs a spell that goes terribly wrong, and will change the course of not only Spike's life, but the Slayer's as well, forever.
