This is my response to the first challenge at the new Good__Evil community started by our own Always__jbj and Selene. I DO plan a sequel. LOL And, because I'm lazy, I'm putting up the whole thing at the same time.

Set in Season 6 between “Dead Things” and “Older and Far Away.” Buffy tries to make up for hurting the one she loves. It's my wicked little imagination filling in the gaps between the scenes that played on the show. Buffy POV & Spike POV; music lyrics, but not really a song-fic. Rating NC-17—Yummy!

Summary: More than ten years after FNA, Buffy is still mourning Spike. One Christmas she reminisces about the past and begins to make plans for a new future.

When Buffy exits her house on Christmas, who does she find outside?

A crossover with LoTR set a few months after The Gift. Spike jumped into the portal rather than Buffy and is transported to Middle-Earth where he acclimates to a new life during the Battle of the Five Armies and afterward. Back home, Buffy and the others mount a rescue mission for Spike but end up sending themselves to a strange new world with a familiar face . B/S, W/T, A/X, G/Other, Spike/Dawn friendship. Rated R for language, violence and sexual situations. A response to an intriguing challenge posted at the Bloodshedverse but slightly tweaked to fit my own wishes. For those faithful fans that have contacted me wondering… I promise that I’m still working on both The Kindred Series and The Path Less Traveled, but I just couldn’t get this one out of my head until I put it down in writing.
