Response to Challenge #369. Post-Chosen AR. Wolfram and Hart isn't the only thing about to bring chaos down on everyone's heads. When Buffy finds out that her champion is alive, can she keep him that way? And who's competing for his attention? Will old enemies, two Hellgods and magic addiction bring disaster?

Oneshot. Set in the middle of "Spiral". Instead of Dawn going to see her sister, Spike slips into the back room of the Winnebago and takes it upon himself to comfort Buffy.

This story is written for the Writercon08 banner challenge. The artwork is made by the incredibly talented kazzy-cee. The year is 1943 and Spike and Dru have been captured by the British army and are about to be executed. But - there might be a way he can save them. He must fly to France and rescue the Slayer - a girl called Joy - from the Germans. And in 2001, Buffy is being given a challenge by Quentin Travers. Travel back in time to Germany to rescue a Slayer and kill a vampire.

Spike tells the story of what happened after Wet and Wild. You really want to read that one first, but a lot of people enjoyed this as a stand alone fic, too. TISSUE WARNING.
