Anatomy of a Night At Home

"There is nothing on!" she whined, throwing the TV Guide down to the floor. After flicking through each of the nine-hundred useless channels they had at around a hundred miles an hour, Buffy stabbed her thumb violently at the red Power button on the remote. Then for good measure, she threw the remote to the ground as well.

Dawn laughed and scooped it up and away from her, pressing the Power button again. "You're just impatient and you don't know what to look for! You know, besides the fact that you zipped through all of our channels like Speedy Gonzalez on a high," the younger girl said.

A snort from the other end of the couch drew the sisters' attention to it, Buffy's face giving off an annoyed expression. Spike smirked at the Slayer, then turned a kinder smile on Dawn. "Bit, what say we introduce Big Sis to her favorite subject?"

Dawn returned Spike's smile, which quickly became evil as she looked at her older sister. "Fine by me, Big Bro."

She flipped to Channel 237.

Buffy, who had been leaning with her back against the arm of the couch and her feet in Spike's lap, groaned and let her head flop back. "The History Channel? Are you kidding me?!"

Dawn let out an evil laugh that Buffy wasn't entirely sure her little sister had learned from Spike. "Sit back and watch, Buff. Just sit back and watch."

Buffy gave a heart-felt little whimper of misery. Spike chuckled as he leaned onto his side, his head resting against Buffy's chest. Buffy was going to kill them when she finally got over the monotony.

End.
