This is a really enjoyable story. All the characters are so well written it's a joy to read. Gayles great, don't read many stories where the potential rival is so likeable and believable. Love it, can't wait for more.

I don't like Gayle very much right now. I want to see Buffy and Spike together.
Don't worry, they will be! Spike has just been through a lot of rejection recently. He's kinda in the same place he was in when he slept with Anya in the series. And Gayle was just... dare I say it? "convenient".

I gotta tell you, I was all aboard the Gayle train until the end of this chapter. I really don't like anyone with Spike or Buffy but each other! She also told Buffy that she wasn't after Spike and they were just friends. I know you clarified at the end of the chapter that they are not going after each other but it was still hard to read and Gayle has a lot of groveling to do before I like her again.
I totally understand your point of view, and I appreciate your review nonetheless. Gayle can't be perfect all the way, she has her weaknesses too. She is definitely not after Spike, though, and right now he's not in her good books either. So nothing more is going to happen between them. But you can bet it's gonna come back to bite them in the ass later... (cue evil laugh...)
