My entry for this round of Seasonal Spuffy.   Set in an AU future (perhaps following any one of my future long or short fics where Buffy and Spike are back together and living in the UK – pick one where Spike hasn’t shashued:  Home is Where They Have to Let You In, Old Friends, Everytime You Say Goodbye, or any of the short reunion fics,  etc.) in which our favorite pair are visiting in Los Angeles for some reason that I may or may not make up later. One evening they encounter Detective Decker and her unusual partner in crime solving. Crossover with Lucifer. Could be a road trip fic if you squint hard enough….

It’s almost a year and a half since Sunnydale fell into a crater. Now retired from slaying, Buffy’s been voluntold to go to Wesley Wyndham-Price’s memorial service, where she finds a few familiar enemies. Everything’s so surreal anyway, Buffy decides she might as well just give into it and see if lunch with Drusilla and Harmony might be one of the better things she does that year. It’s a pretty low bar, after all. The day keeps getting weirder, but the bar for the year might just be unsurpassable by the end of it.

The comics are ignored completely and both TV series as taken as cannon. This is a not a romantic reunion fic, although there are reunions aplenty, and parts of it could be described as romantic. Spike does not speak in this story, although others speak about him quite a bit.

All song and chapter titles are courtesy of X-Ray Spex, and all the characters and settings you've heard of before are courtesy of Mutant Enemy et al. Dylan Thomas' Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night is partially quoted. The story is entirely my own, although the original plot bunny was an EF challenge by knightowl. Now that Spike has returned from the dead, wasn’t this resurrected with him? Or was this left behind in Sunnydale?
Starts after the final episode of Angel, assuming no comic continuation. Contains many missing scenes from season 7. Complete at twelve chapters; 29,000 words.

Spike could smell it as he passed through the quiet house. Everyone was sleeping. Even Buffy was sleeping. But he knew she was crying all the same. Set before Touched.

Future fic set loosely in the comic world (references to season eight events) but many years later. The Cleveland hellmouth is in trouble and someone thought long dead has called for help for himself and the resident slayers. Buffy to the rescue...

Spike's weekly to do list.

Probably set during season six, during his affair with Buffy. A gift for the number of fans who have told me they'd read a bloody grocery list, if I posted one.

“I’ve got a heart under all this dead flesh, you know,” he said. “I get lonely. I like friendship, a cuddle in the corner, I’ve enough human in me for that. That ever occur to you?” Set in season six.

Two teenage girls sneak out of the house after midnight to meet a vampire. That was then. This is now. Set between seasons five and six.

The funeral had been in the afternoon, he’d expected everyone would have gone home but there was someone in the cemetery tonight. It was Buffy. Buffy and Angel, the grand torturer himself, flaunting their great and tragic love beneath the midnight sky. Spike comes across the two of them the night of Joyce's funeral. He's unsure how he feels about it... and can't decide what he means to do.

I hug Drusilla close, ready to let her take me down with her, as she did a hundred years ago. Break all the barriers, shatter all the rules, fill me with evil blood and tear out my broken heart, so I no longer feel the pain. Spike's point of view in the Bronze and his crypt during Crush.
