Buffy is injured while fighting a demon and finds herself paralyzed and in a wheel chair. Spike, needing a place to hide from demons, takes on the task of caring for Buffy while Joyce works. One thing is bound to lead to another...

Angelus makes his way back to the mansion during "I Only Have Eyes For You" where the ghosts of old tragic lovers possessed him and Buffy. Angelus is furious at being made to feel "love" for the Slayer again. He heads out with Dru for a "vile kill" and comes across the Slayer who seems to be lost in thought. In his rage he drains most of her blood and leaves her to die. This is not the end of our heroine as Spike, who can now walk (unknown by Angelus and Dru), sees the fall of the Slayer. What will he do? Will he let her die? Or will he give her a new life to help him get revenge on his Sire?

Set during season 5 after 'Intervention'. What would have happened if Angel had lost his soul after sleeping with Darla in ‘Reprise’? Vengeance in mind, he returns to Sunnydale to pursue the Slayer. Only Spike can save Buffy now. But will he be too late?

Spike returns from Africa, ensouled but sane, to find the Scoobies devastated by the events of the spring. Nobody's rolling out the welcome mat--but someone *does* have a little surprise for him....

Three months after that final battle in "Not Fade Away", Giles and Andrew take a trip to L.A. to do their own investigation on what happened that night. A lucky break leads them to someone they thought was surely lost forever. In the midst of heartache and trials fraught with revenge and the consequences, can true love find its way? Ok, here’s the sitch. It’s early in a Season V that has been tweaked to suit my purposes. Spike hasn’t had his little revelation about his feelings for Buffy, and she, of course, is clueless. Riley has had his surgery and begun his macho identity crisis. Joyce and Dawn won’t be mentioned because they aren’t part of this story. Riley has gone back to Iowa for an extended leave, partly to recover from his surgery and partly to figure out what he wants to do next. He was apprehensive about being gone from Buffy for so long, and not at all reassured when she tells him she will take Spike with her for extra muscle if he’s so worried about her. He reminds her of her words to him before he lost the enhancements that were killing him, when she told him that if she “wanted somebody with super powers, I’d be dating Spike!” She rolls her eyes at his implication and they do not part on the best of terms. Many thanks to Oracle Holly for her read overs and suggestions as I struggled with how to get the story going. *hugs* Holly.
