Favorite Characters of Other Shows

Dec 07 2007 08:35 am   #1Guest

What's everyone's favorite and least favorite character of other show's they like?

Dec 07 2007 11:53 am   #2Guest

I love Dean on "Supernatural". He's hot, he's complicated, and he cracks me up. I watch "House" for House. Love Chloe on "Smallville". The whole cast of "ER" - I've been with that show a long time. Hiro on "Heroes". Marshall on "How I Met Your Mother".

For shows off the air - The TNG and DS9 "Star Trek" casts. The "Babylon 5" cast. Sydney, Marshall, and Jack Bristow on "Alias". "Remington Steele". The "Magnum P.I." cast. "Firefly". Fitzcairn cracked me up on "Highlander", though I loved the show in general, and Amanda was also very memorable.

Too many to list, so someone else have a go. :)

I love Dean Winchester on Supernatural.

I love all of the characters on that show, but Dean is the best. Everything CM said about him is true.

Hiro, from Heroes, is awsome. He reminds me of a Japanese version of Andrew. :P From that show I also love Peter, Adam, Nathan, and Mohinder Suresh.

I also love Lex on Smallville, Lacroix from Forever Knight, Methos, Amanda, and Fitzcairn from Highlander: The Series, Cole Turner from Charmed, Dr. Christian Troy from Nip/Tuck, and Harry Dresden from The Dresden Files. Oh and Booth and Brenna from Bones.

From a new show, there is Sock from Reaper. He cracks me up. :D

I love Mick St John from Moonlight, (love that show!!) Seeley Booth & Bones from Bones, Peter, Mohinder & Claire from Heroes.  Don't watch much TV these days, takes too much time away from Spuffy!!      Loved Jayne & River and Zoe & Wash  from Firefly.  I also used to absolutely adore MacGyver.   He was my very first crush.

Lex Luthor on Smallville, he was the most intriguing male character on the show and part of the reason I kept watching it. But I also liked Chole Sullivan too. Almost every other character tended to annoy me a little, mostly Clark.

Charmed, Piper Halliwell was my favorite, coming in close with Cole Turner. I also liked Chris Halliwell, the adult version, when he was on the show.

CSI, well I liked Sara and Grisson and Greg on the Las Vegas version, on Miami I loved Speed, and on NY I like Stella and Danny.

Criminal Minds I love Derek Morgan and Garcia, but I liked Dr. Reid as well.

In Law and Order SVU: I liked Stabler and Benson and in CI I liked Goren and his archenemy Nichole Wallace, I always liked watching her on the show.

For older shows I still watch, in Roseanne I always liked Darlene, and Facts of Life I liked Jo the best. 21 Jump Street, the later seasons Tom Hanson and Doug Penhall.

And wow, I watch a lot more shows than I thought I did.

I don't watch much TV these days.

My favorite female character of all time is Sami Brady from the soap Days of our Lives.  I don't watch the show any more, but I just loved that bad girl with a heart.  The guy who plays Dean on Supernatural, played her twin brother on the show for a few years.

On Bones, my fav. is Hodgins.

On Blood Ties, Mike.

That is the extend of my current TV viewing.  Although after seeing the promo pics of James as Captain John, on Torchwood, I am going to start catching up and watch all of season one, before his episode airs.

If you haven't seen those pictures yet, I have them posted in my livejournal.

I just checked out the pictures you posted. Oh good God, I'm going to have to start watching Torchwood now. And isn't it sad that I went all fangirly over the fact that he had a sword in one of the pictures? I blame my Highlander obsession. :P

He's in the first and last ep of Season 2 Torchwood.

Hodgins and Angela are so cute!

Dec 07 2007 06:42 pm   #9Unbridled_Brunette

I don't watch a lot of television now, but I adore House. And, of course, it's the title character that makes that show go, so I love him. Hugh Laurie is a genius. Plus ... he's got those blue eyes ...

I started watching Bones this season, and I like it a lot. Agent Booth is charming and funny -- and surprisingly hot. I've never been attracted to David Boreanaz before. Age definitely improves him.

And ... I'm going to assume this next one counts as a character, because he certainly is playing one, even if he has the same name as the actor who portrays him. I love Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report.

I'm such a dork. I think those (and TDS) are probably the only shows I actually watch. :P

God, I think I might watch way too much TV sometimes.  I love Booth, always had a bit of a thing for David.  Henry Fitzroy from "Blood Ties."  I also like Mick from "Moonlight."  Luke and Lorelai from "Gilmore Girls."  Barny in "How I Met Your Mother," he's just too funny.  I'm actually more for Sam than Dean in "Supernatural."  I feel like I'm the only one, but I love them both.  From "Heroes" I like Claire, Peter, Hiro, Niki, Matt, Nathan, yeah, the cast is just too big.  That's the most I can think of right now.

When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.

Lady Yashka,  I went all fangirly over the gun and sword, so right there with you.  LOL!

I  have to agree with Unbridled_Brunette, age definitely agrees with David.  But Hodgins is "King of the lab"   I just love his conspiracy theories and he's so cute when he's mooning over Angela.

Bones is one show I'd love to see James guest star in.  I doubt it will happen.  Therefore I wrote my own Spike/Bones crossover ficlet.  LOL!

Dec 07 2007 11:10 pm   #13Eowyn315

Favorites:

Adam and Peter (Heroes) - I don't care if Adam's evil, they make a kick-ass team.

Booth and Hodgins (Bones)

Casey (Chuck)

And pretty much the entire cast of How I Met Your Mother and Friday Night Lights. I can't choose - don't make me choose!

No one else is mentioning their least favorites, so I'll have a go:

Hiro (Heroes) - So many people seem to love him, and I have no idea why. He has annoyed the crap out of me since day one.

Mohinder (Heroes) - I think he's the stupidest person ever. I cannot count the number of times I've wanted to slap him. And he's supposed to be a scientist, which just makes it worse.

Andi (Reaper) - I could not care less about Sam's love interest. Zero chemistry, and she's a completely irrational character. I think maybe part of it's the actress - I didn't like her on Heroes, either.

Gwen and Owen (Torchwood) - I don't really like any of the characters on this show (makes you wonder why I still watch it, doesn't it?), but these two are particularly detestable.

Writing should feel easy, like a monkey driving a speed boat.
Dec 08 2007 01:30 am   #14SpikesKatMac

After reading everybody's posts, realize that I need to watch more TV!

Forgot these characters that I also love:

Angela & Hodges, they're just great.  Can't stand Cam; want to SLAP her!

Scully & Mulder, back before the show just became insanely stupid; pre-season 6, let's say.  Can't stand the new two they brought on; couldn't stand them so much I can't even remember their names

Methos from Highlander; couldn't stand Amanda - and I agree completely with the comments about JM with the sword - so hot!  Gulp!

Also, there's this guy that's appeared on a couple of episodes of Without a Trace.  Crap, what is his name???  He plays a detective assisting on a task force, and last night he was running around with guns a-blazing; very hot!  Name, name....   ;)   Hate the agent he's working with though, she drives me to drink.

*sigh*,  I missed it.  I've missed all the little parts he's had on Without a Trace and sadly, CBS does not put those shows online for viewing.  At least that I could find.

Wish I could have seen it.

As far as least favorites on a show.

Can I pick a writer, instead of a character?  Of Days, the ex-head writer (he is the head writer for Passions) is the worst.  I stopped watching because of him.

Bones.  I guess my least favorite would have to be Cam, but I don't hate her.

On Blood Ties it's more difficult.  I really like all of them.  If I had to say who is my least favorite, I guess it would be Henry.  *ducks*.  He's just not bad enough for me.  I do like the snarky chemistry between Mike and Henry though.

Nip/Tuck: Dr. Troy and Dr. McNamara (hate Julia)

Yeah, she is kind of annoying, isn't she?  :-P  I watch Nip/Tuck.  I think I like Christian the best.  Not because he's the bad boy.  I like Sean, but he can be kind of a pussy when it comes to things like...Oh, say, Christian boning his wife-to-be on the night before their wedding.  Or perhaps, his wife screwing around and lying to him about the paternity of his son. :-P

Lost: I LOVE Sayid!  He's so heroic, even if he tortures people :-)  I was upset that there wasn't more of him last season.

Sex and the City: Love Samantha.  Not for her prolific sexual activity, although those parts are freaking hilarious, but for her guts and her fierce protectiveness of her friends.  Like when she warns Mr. Big not to hurt Carrie again.  That is so me :-) She never judges them.  That's something that I always strive to do.

There are some older shows, too, but I don't watch much TV these days.

Well, since I didn't do my least favorite characters earlier.

Smallville: Clark Kent and Lana Lang

Charmed: Dan Gordon and Officer Sheridon

CSI: Catherine Willows, CSI Miami: Ryan Wolfe, and CSI NY: Peyton.

Criminal Minds: Hotcher and JJ

No one really in the Law and Orders.

Roseanne: Mark and Becky, Facts of Life: Blair (except when she was around Jo), and in 21 Jump Street: Captain Fuller.

David's natural charisma has been able to show through as Booth, and it's really made a lot of people take a second look. He's actually hilarious in interviews if he's comfortable with the person (since he's shy for new people). I've been really happy for the success of the show.

Yay! I'm not alone in my fangirly reactions! :P

Now, since I didn't mention my least favorite characters, I'll do that now.

Smallville: Lana Lang. Girl needs to be drop kicked. I was okay with ignoring her on the show until they made Lex get all obsessed with her. :hurl: Lex should only be obsessed with taking over the world and killing *cough*screwing*cough* Clark. ;)

Heroes: Maya and Alejandro. Booooring! I was glad to see Alejandro go and I would comfort myself with the fact that Sylar only wanted Maya for her brain.

Charmed without Cole. ::sniff:: The show started to really suck when he left.

Well this is all I can think of at the moment. I might remember more later.

Yeah, it really has. You could see it a little on Angel, when they let him be funny, which is why I always liked him better on Angel than on Buffy. But Booth is really a great character for him - he's still serious enough to have depth, but it doesn't bog him down the way Angel did.

Heroes: Maya and Alejandro.

Ugh, *gag* totally agree. I should've listed them, but I mostly try to pretend they don't exist. (Also, if I listed all the characters I disliked in Heroes this season, it'd be a looong list.) It makes me feel a little uncomfortable cheering on a serial killer to off the "good guys" but omg I couldn't stand them. You have to figure there's something wrong with your character when you make a serial killer (and the main villain of last season) look good.

Writing should feel easy, like a monkey driving a speed boat.

I totally agree.   Booth is such a better character for him; he's got more layers to explore then he did as Angel;  while I adore Spike, I still loved Angel, just not with Buffy, so I was so glad to see David get another great role, and happily followed him to Bones.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Josef, from Moonlight.  He's an amazing character, and Jason Doring brings such a sarcastic tinge to the role, that I'd rather watch Josef for five minutes, then Mick for an hour.  I love Mick, don't get me wrong, but Josef has all the trademarks that I loved in Spike:  sexy, sardonic, and completely comfortable as a vampire.

Dec 08 2007 11:27 pm   #23GoldenBuffy

Ok, when you said Mick from Moonlight I squeed. OMG, I love him so much. At first I was he is so not hot, then by eppie two I was in love, his voice. *drools* But he can't top Spike.

Also love Booth, Hodgins, Angelia, and what's the other dudes name, the young one, I like him too.

The whole cast from CSI, loves Grissom. He got that whole mature sexy going on. Plus I love his character, many layers there for me.

Dean and Sam but in two different ways. Like with Sam I want to take him home and bake him cookies and feed him. I want to mother him, lol. And Dean, well... *cough* *cough* I think you can guess.

Sheldon from CSI:NY. I can't tell you why I like him out of the whole cast but I do. Just can't put my finger on it.

I'd have to agree that Hiro is one of my favs. on Heros and the Patrelli brothers, and Skyler I do like. *don't shoot me*

How could I forget House, that show is awesome and I really enjoy it. I didn't get into it until the end of season one, so I watched the reruns over the summer.

Dexter from Dexter

Ghost Whisper, I enjoy that show, been with it since eppie one.

What's his name, Kevin McKidd? From Journey Man. He also played in Rome which I loved. Enjoyed that series and enjoying the show. Got me to stop watching CSI: Miami. And that was hard to do.

Bionic Woman is pretty good, don't rmember the Bionic chicks name, but I like her.

Oh, and the dude who plays on Life as the ex-cop turned co again. very good show.

Oh,a nd Ugly Betty. I love Betty and I like how she doesn't care what others think of her, she's going to be herself.

That's all I can think of. Oh,a nd a lot of characters listed already from older shows like Highlander, Forever Night, Magnim PI, etc.

I love the How I Met Your Mother cast, the South Park boys, Stephen Colbert (although I have to say that is someone else's fault), and Melinda from Ghost Whisperer, but mostly I just laugh at her clothes.

As for old shows, I love the Golden Girls, Mulder and Scully (pre season 7), Dave and Maddie from Moonlighting, and Catherine and Vincent from Beauty and the Beast.

And was I hallucinating, or is JM going to be crossing swords with that hunky Torchwood guy?

:I just found this forum and thought I would put in my thoughts.

I love the vampire Henry on Bloodties, a vampire show on lifetime TV. And my favorite pairing on that show is Vicky and Henry. Has anybody watched it from here it almost makes up for no buffy shows. I read the books the show is based on and I must say I am impressed with how they have translated it into the show. Question for you.Have you seen the show and How did you like it?

Dec 13 2007 08:45 am   #27TammyDevil666

I love Blood Ties.  Henry is no Spike, but he's definitely easy on the eyes.  I love him with Vicki as well.  It just sucks that we might not get anymore new episodes.

When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. Favourite characters? i could name some that break my heart.

Fred/Wesly,

Aeryn/John,

Joe Black/ Susan Parish (Meet Joe Black)http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119643/

but the most heart breaking characters outside spike/buffy to me has gotta be

 Nikita/Michael    *sobs hystericly*

Spock, Kirk (Star Trek: The Original Series)

Fox Mulder (X-Files)

Cole Turner (Charmed)

Gregory House (House, M.D.)

Chloe Sullivan (Smallville)

Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman)

David Addison (Moonlighting)

I usually don't take to female leads/characters too well for they are almost always stereotypically portrayed or taken to the polar extreme.

I think no one's mentioned two (three?) of my favorites yet - Rose and The Doctor (9th AND 10th) from the current run of Dr. Who. Rose/9th Doctor is also a relationship with a great dynamic, though I like that it never got beyond a whole lotta tension. - Nell

My favorites are Dean and Sam from SuperNatural. Henry, Vicky, and Mike from BloodTies. SouthPark boys especially Cartman. CSI Kat, Nick, Grissom, and the rest of the cast. The whole ER cast. Veronica Mars Veronica, Mac, Logan, and Wallce. Heros Elle, and everyone on the show. Bonic Woman Jamie. Aqua Teen Hunger Force Master Shake. That is all I can think of now. This is Zombiegirl.

Dec 22 2007 12:12 am   #38Dutchmoxie

I think I have a list.

Veronica Mars: Logan, Veronica, Mac. And I had a thing for Cassidy somehow. I like Wallace, and Keith will forever rule.

Moonlight: Josef, Beth. If I had to choose: Josef. Hands down. Slight Jason Dohring thing. You know what I mean.

Bones: Yeah, I agree with what has been said about David and Booth. I love Brennan and Booth, and the squints. Cam annoys me sometimes. I will forever love Caroline. That woman is hilarious.

Gilmore Girls: Jess, Lorelai, Luke, Pre-season 6 Rory. When she started stealing boats, I started getting annoyed.

Smallville: in the short time I watched it, I loved Chloe, and just wanted to kick or hit Lana every time she was on screen. Le sigh.

NCIS: Kate and Abby. Tony cracks me up. Gibbs rules. I don't always care much for McGee, and even less for Ziva.

You're admiring my moxie, aren't you?

I actually just recently got into watching Heroes. I've only seen season one so far, and none of season two yet, but my favorite characters in the show are Peter, Nathan, Claire, and Hiro.

I'm not to fond of Niki/Jessica though, or Matt Parkmen.

That's the problem with trying to watch a "guest star" that is one of your favorite actors - since I never watch Without A Trace, I also missed JM's guest appearance.  Hope that someone put it on YouTube.  Was he on screen enough to buy the episode on iTunes?

But wouldn't it be great if they did? Just imagine it, if Lex was screwing Clark, then Clark wouldn't be such a self-rightous tight wad and Lex would be too busy boinkin' Clark to turn evil. :D

Huge LOL - I really love Lex, but even Lex could not get me past that Lana-Clark relationship - what a bore she is.

I never got past the first episode of "Bones" but I am so happy for all the success David Boreanaz is having with that series - same for Allison Hannigan.  Always so pleased to see any of the Buffyverse and Firefly casts and writers having a successful project.  Can't hardly wait to see "The Doll House" -

My Current favorites are:

Dr. Who - Martha Jones
Torchwood - I actually like all of the cast - with my favorite being Capt. Jack
LOST - Sawyer, Sayid  and as a couple Sun-Jinn
Battle Star Galactica - James Olmos
Blood Ties - Henry Fitzroy and Mike Celluci - couple:  Fitzroy and Vicki (but we will not see that now - loved them together in the books
Supernatural - Dean
House - Hugh Laurie
Inspector Lynley and Havers - love these two working together

From Special Films for TV:
Darcy & Elizabeth from Pride & Prejudice
Anne Elliot and Capt. Wentworth

Now it's time to go watch BBC Supernatural Saturday -

I've stopped watching Smallville as much as I did to. Lana should be no where near Lex! The only things he should be obsessed with is Clark and taking over the world. Not a skinny, inspid little girl he didn't even really care about for the first few seasons. The only reason he helped her those seasons were cause of Clark and all of a sudden they make her a love interest? I liked Helen more than her, and Helen tried to kill him.

And Lana and Clark *ugh* when will the writers stop with that? It was never going anywhere and they had zero chemistry. Do some people actually ship them? Even straight male journalists saw that Lex and Clark had more chemistry than anyone else on the show.
