A beta please

Dec 31 2007 09:54 am   #1Lady

I am looking for a beta either to help me finish a story, or perhaps full time, either is welcomed. Mostly I need help with grammar, and sentence structure. I am also open to any ideas or suggestions you may wish to give, however I usually have the plot worked out before I begin a story. I like to go over each chapter two or three times before I send it to my beta, then after I make changes I try to go over it at least twice more. If possible I like getting chapters back within a week, preferably 3 days.

Most of my work has a lot of angst, and a lot of plot, and eventually ends with a happily ever after. I try to make my stories original, because so many things have been done over and over. I try to bring new ideas, and put different twists on my plots.

I currently have a beta, but due to RL issues the chapters I send her don't come back so swiftly. After waiting over a week my muse gets bored from lack of feedback. I love my beta but I would like to have a separate opinion to keep my muse in a perky mood.

I am currently in the middle of a story and I have several chapters ready to be looked over by a beta. If you are interested please e-mail me the_ladyz@yahoo.com

I thought it would be alright to add to this thread rather than start another.

I've been looking for a Beta to help me but every time I look in Betalists the people wrote them a long time ago and no longer are interested. I was hoping someone willing to be a Beta for a fairly long story could help me with the flow of my story and some advice when I get crazy when things refuse to work out. I would hope you also enjoyed Season Five. If it makes a difference I have a few chapters already written and looked at by another Beta, but was just hoping for a fresh set of eyes. My e-mail address is Wordcrafter77@aol.com.

Forgive me for posting again, but I am desperate. I might have to start a new thread. I hope if this thread stays active someone will notice and I could get a response, e-mail or just a reply.  Thanks.

Hey. If you're really desperate, I might be able to help (and would be very happy to do so!) However, I'm not great with making plots work (more of a spelling, grammar, sentence structure and flow girl), so if this is no help then feel free to keep looking. If interested, email at jfp34@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks, jess. Sorry I haven't replied but I've been busy dealing with school and writer's block. I might get back to you if I suddenly remember how to write the chapter I need, because I would like someone else to take a look at the flow. I think I don't need help with spelling or grammar so don't think it'll be tedious. At the moment the writer's block and help with plot is obsessing me, though I don't know if anyone else could help with all the info in my head and details I have trouble keeping straight, let alone explain.

Anyway, thanks again and I'll try to get back to you by e-mail if I need your help.

I second the idea of posting here, rather than messing up the board with a new thread:)

I am also (of course) looking for a beta, primarily for spelling and grammar help, as English is not my native language. Could someone please help me? I would be very grateful :)
