I'm an artist (professionally, actually) , and I make wallpapers on occasion on deviantart, and my latest was Spike-oriented, so I figured I'd put up a link in case someone here would enjoy it.

And, of course, if you want to comment or critique, it's appreciated.

Hi Shell Presto -

Great to have another graphic person here - look forward to seeing your artwork - check out Whedon World Gallery and let me know if you would like to show some of your work there -  www.whedonworld.com

Your site seems a bit jumbled and hard to navigate, but if i get a few pieces together I'll probably submit something. :)

That`s Spike?.

Well, it was supposed to be. Lol. I guess the likeness isn't very good?

But I appreciate your honesty and I'll try better next time.

It wasn`t supposed to be mean, somethings look very much alike him, and some things don`t.
It`s a nice drawing^^.

No worries, I didn't take it as mean. I like constructive criticism and honesty. I'm actually a professional graphic artist, so I'd rather hear the truth and improve. :)

And here I try again. Not wallpaper this time, and far from perfect, but nonetheless trying to capture Spike:

Looks Good - I have tried several times to do some pastels of him - none too successful on the "realistic" side - My best Whedonverse paintings are of Illyria and Buffy and I have one contemporary dreamscape painting of Spike that I like very much.

Look forward to seeing the color version -

I can't comment on them because I don't have (or really want flickr).  But I see what you are saying. However, I'd like to say that realistic pastels are overrated. Yes, they take an insane amount of talent, and I'm envious of anyone who can do that, but if you're just working off a photograph and not a live model, you are really just creating a copy of something. I do it myself, so I'm not bashing it, but it's sooo much more interesting to put your own spin and style on it, to create something that you couldn't possibly see in real life.

Which is why I like your two stylized black and white pastel paintings best. And I love your use of color on some of the others. That's what makes your art shine -- your interpretation.

posted a small sample of what I think makes a very nice Spike wallpaper on previous post along with the link that will take you to several sizes.  The link did not show the image before - the sample is now posted.

Thank You Adlena for checking out my wallpaper - that is from such a long time ago.  I will post some of my latest - my love for the Spuffy relationship and these two characters just keeps getting stronger.   Hope this link works - it is the link to various sizes.  The original is designed for widescreen monitors with space for easy reading of icons.  You can select from different sizes.  Anyway this is how it used to work but Flickr has gone through some changes lately. http://www.flickr.com/photos/nmcil/8742818933/sizes/l/in/photostream/
