Would you guys like to read a true and very frightening story?

This is a story I found several years ago written by a caver telling us about his experiences while caving with some friends of his.

The things that happen to him down there are very eerie and mysterious.

Like Mulder, I want to believe lol…

I’m not certain nor uncertain of anything. It just intrigues me.

After reading this, I did some research on caves and it was equally disturbing.

Anyhow, here it is à http://www.angelfire.com/trek/caver/index.html

When you’re finished reading it, come back here and tell me what you think about it.

- If you want to win a war, you must serve no master but your own ambition..

-The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.

- A religious war is like children fighting over who has the strongest imaginary friend.

Mes - That was scary and well written and I wanted to slap the guy for making it white and blue type on black and also the incredible annoyingness of having to click back and forth to the pictures.

I've visited both Merrimac Caves in Missouri and Mammouth Caves in Kentucky.  Merrimac is big and all dug out so you can walk around without have an attack of the screaming claustrophic meemies.  They take you down about 1/2 hour, then the cut out all the lights, like this guy described.  It is way creepy.  It is unbelievably dark.  You can't see anything and you are Sooo relieved when they turn the lights back on.

Mammouth Caves have several different paths and naturally my worthy spouse and I took the path that was way difficult.  We thought, hell, we're in good shape, we can handle it.  They drug us down this path where you had to bend and squeeze thru spots.  And, Yes they had warning signs.  And yes we ignored them.  One couple tried to take their baby with a stroller.  Duh.

If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?

Interesting read.  The author did a good job of building suspense and I read it in the dark with the rest of my household asleep.  Gave me chills.  :)   But I'm pretty sure it's just fiction.  I looked it up and I saw this http://msgboard.snopes.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=91;t=000886;p=1

Holy crud. They took their baby in there? Yeah... That marriage is gonna last long.
And don't the Merrimac Caves have cave paintings in them?

It probably is fiction, you're right. I just can't help but wonder.
I've heard accounts from a friend of mine who went caving. She said that she heard and felt strange things kinda like this guy described. .
The strange and unexplained have always fascinated me. We live on a planet full of unsolved mysteries and unexplored depths.
There are just so many things that the human race does not know or understand yet.

Did you hear the story about the whale they found that had giant suction marks around it's body caused by an enormous octopus?
We still don't even know what lives at the bottom of the sea.

Merrimac Caves have cave paintings in them?  If they do, the keepers weren't showing them to the unwashed masses like us.

that's what I thought. I remember reading somewhere in a news journal about cave paintings in there. Maybe I'm wrong. I guess if you didn't see them, there must not be any at all.

About a year ago in Laguedoc, some kids lost there dog in a hole in the ground (OMG this time Lassie's in the well!!) and went searching for him. They dug inside and found a small cave with strange paintings on the walls. The boys apparently got a 50$ award :P

If it's that easy, I'm going to go draw up some paintings myself and win money too lol
