Sequels you wish would be written

Apr 19 2009 04:34 am   #1LisFayte
I know you have read a really good fic and wished it hadn't ended so soon. Which fics do you wish there had been a sequel written? For me it some of them would be:
A Penny For Your....... by Jackofspikes
Guardians of the Scythe by Athenawolfe (I know she has written some oneshots, but I want a real sequel)
Cornpone and the Bloodsuckers by AlwaysJBJ and Mefiant (Always knows I want this :D )

What are yours?

Oh, thank you! That is the one I was thinking about, and like the doofus I am, I wrote Penny instead :D

I know it's not quite a sequel but I'd love to see Mary finish part 3 of her Journeys series. The first two were awesome and then she stopped. I'm not sure if they're here but they're called 'Promise to a Lady' and 'Awakenings'.

I'd also love to read the 'promised' sequel to 'Enemy Incognito' by Wynn.

Don't think that the series will ever be finished - as far as I know Mary's Journeys is a Permanent WIP - but I join you in the "I Wish."

A sequel for Silence Speaks by Eowyn

Holly's "The Garden Series."

She's billed it as a trilogy but so far only the first book, "Grey Gardens of Shadowed Rapture" and a bit of the second have been written.  Every time I've read it (several by now), I've laughed hysterically during the first half and bawled during the second half.  Powerful stuff.

Her characterizations of the scoobies and the "West Wing"ers are spot on.  There is just something about the interactions between the two groups that is just priceless.  She makes it quite obvious why the scoobies and Spike especially should not be allowed to inflict themselves on the general population or maybe even leave Sunnydale. ;-)

Besides, I really want to see Spike meet The President. *giggles*

RE: Above.

I am so sorry.

I mean it, so, so sorry. I put that story on hiatus forever ago because I just...couldn't budge on it. I loved every second of writing GGSR, but the sequel zapped me dry. I WILL finish it...it might end up being a collaborative effort between me and a friend (another writer who actually got me into The West Wing to begin with), but it WILL be finished. Some day. I'll approach her about writing that with me after she gets done writing her current Josh/Donna fic (which is excellent, btw).

And thank you so much for your kind words about that series. Readers like you MAKE me want to finish it.

Holly's "The Garden Series."

I've never even watched the West Wing but I thoroughly enjoyed GGSR, even knowing absolutely nothing about the characters other than what they looked like (with a hand from Google).  I look forward to the day you do finish it, Holly.

The Garden Series made me watch The West Wing...or more accurately see four episodes on TV and run out and buy the first season. Her writing also made me read Rebecca. It's now my favorite book. I love Holly's writing. Any sequel that she wants to write, I'm going to be right there reading. I would also love something in the Dreams and Desotos universe by Bloodshedbaby. I love Elaine. She's one of the few nonvillain OCs that I've truly enjoyed. I would also love to see Eurydice write again.

Ditto on "I Love Holly's writing" - I loved her interpretation of Rebecca (Holly, I even made a bunch of DVDcaps with the intention of trying some images)  and I have enjoyed every single one of her works that I read.  I hope that she Buffyverse Muse keeps going for a long time or until she wants to write her original work only.   And if Holly would ever take on Jane Austen's "Persuasion" I would be a very happy camper or even a Holly version of Wuthering Heights.  I will be happy with whatever she writes.

Maybe Holly could do a short holiday story for her "The Garden Series" as an temporary sequel -

Have to add my Sequel Wish for Arlais Fale's "D'Hoffryn's Circus  -  however since the writer posted this back in 2006 and this is the only story I suspect that she is not active in Buffyverse FF now.  Makes a great stand alone but a tantalizing possible future.

Any of JackofSpikes stories...Really wish she would come back. Talented writer! Ariel Dawn to get her other 'kids' stories going from the Rest of Our Lives Series. Maryperk to finish the Immortal Guardians Series! God Bloodshedbaby's Dreams and DeSotos would love to see a sequel to that!

Love to see some more of ImmortallySpuffy fics especially the new one Immortal Beloved. Be really cool to see a sequel of The Order of the Light, Fixing the Factors.

Oracleholly's A Slayer's Path...Spikeslovebite's With All My Heart...Spike_spetslayer Learning to Fly...kantarya's Double Spiked...redwulf50 to finish up the series (loves this series to bits)...And Kyra Storm's Legacy a big definite on a sequel!

I know I have tons more that I wanted more of but those are first and foremost in my mind. I know sounds like a lot! I just loved reading them!

I can tell you that I've started posting the next Immortal Guardian story today.  LOL.

Actually the new ImmortallySpuffy story is Beloved Slayer.  There's 8 chapters written(including the two posted), and I have the next three planned.  Not sure if we'll do a sequel to The Order of the Light, and there's none planned for Fixing the Factors(If it happens, I'll probably be writing it by myself and it'll be with Angel and Cordy having to live the day over and over with Spuffy not being affected and teasing them).  I have talked to Jackofspikes to plan the above chapters, but that's been at least two weeks ago.  We're working on another crossover fic together, and we were discussing how to proceed.  I hope to hear from her soon.

Oh, I would also love to see a sequel to Anaross's My Life Closed Twice and Long Day's Journey. I LOVE those fics.

I know it won't happen since she is no longer active in the fandom, but I would love to read a sequel to sabershadowkat's "Carpe Frenulum."

Link: http://www.sabershadowkat.com/buffy/carpefrenulum.html

In it Buffy dies and comes back as a man. She then has to start a whole new life because her friends have moved on without her.  Well, all of them with the possible exception of Spike.  There is just a hint at the end of the story of the possibility of... something between them.  I've wanted to know what happened next ever since I first read it.

And sabershadowkat had such a nice touch with the Spike/Buffy friendship, it didn't matter which incarnation of it she wrote -- they all touch me.
It's not the thing you fling, it's the fling itself.

Ah there are so many. *edit or WIPs coninued, starting with "Master" by Aurora and end with "Cabin Fever" by Zarrah *sigh*

But regarding sabershadowkat's "Carpe Frenulum." I like to add Knight Errant by perletwo.
This is kind of a sequel to Saber's story but also an eternal WIP. http://www.the-sandlot.com./fic.php?mode=fic&fic_id=190

I know there are lots of stories I'd like to see sequels for but I have to agree about Jack of Spikes stories.  She's wonderful and enchanting and I wish she wrote the series.
When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before.

to all of you that have asked for more of my stories...i thank you. I have to say that i am at the moment trying to get back into the habit of writing. I only have a few more chaps on Second Chance to go and if I can get them done I WILL be starting work on the sequels of all the stories that need them. Thank you all for your patience and you kind words.

WOW!!!!!!  It's so good to hear from you JackofSpikes!  Can't wait!  I was one who asked up under Mel.  I love your stories...Like every single one of them!  I don't think there isn't a story I would love to see a continuation to!  But, really good to see you coming back!  *Snoopy dance* =}

Very good news from JackofSpikes!
I remembered another story I never saw a sequel of but wished there had been one: When Tables Turn by C.Roxane. I don't think there is one.

All by Maryperk :D

I know there's more, but those are off the top of my head. :P

great to hear that writers are trying to get back to their works - so many fine stories have been left unfinished.  I just recently enjoyed works from Maryperk -

Recently, I've been re-reading Nan Dibble's Old Blood series. The fifth story in the series (Blood Price), I had saved unfinished part way through chapter 9. As always, when I come across an incomplete story that I saved ages ago, I went to see if the final 'book' in the series had progressed since my last read through. Imagine my distress to learn that Nan died several years ago! I had had no idea. Not only have we lost a well-loved talented writer, but we must resign ourselves to never knowing 'what came next'.

:-(

I was just trying to steer Kudagirl to Nan Dibble's stuff. The fandom lost a giant talent when she died.  She was also, according to those who were around back then, a wonderful, caring and helpful person to everyone. Such a shame.
