To the creator of this site> Thread problem/is it the same for you?

I don't know if it's only me but when I go to the forum it takes exactly 2 minutes for it to load due to the fact that there are at least 500 threads.
I know it probably has to do with the fact that I have medium speed internet but sometimes it times out for me because it takes too long to load and it doesn't have time to transmit the signal to the satellite and back again.

My idea was that maybe you could limit the amount of threads shown per page to about 200--so if people want to see what was posted 10,000 years ago, they can click "next" down at the bottom and 200 more threads will load. That way it won't take up too much space on one page...

Another idea I had that would be cool is if we could decorate our user lookups. Put a background maybe and change the text and text color and just have a link to the author’s stories.

Just an idea to improve it and personalize it ^^

I personally have always enjoyed spiffing up my layouts on user lookups :D

Messiah, I don't know that Dia checks the forum threads very often. If you have a question or problem for her, you should contact her through the "support" link on the left of the main page.

ETA - I just checked both the forum, and one of the topics with a lot of threads. Neither one took more than a minute to load - probably much less.  I have satellite - so somewhere in between dial-up (much faster) and broadband (I wish!)

Hmmm...I am currently speed limited to 64kb/sec (I exceeded my download limit for the month *sigh*) and I'm not having any trouble loading the forum atm...whereas other times when I am running at full speed it can take ages to load...I don't know alot about such things, but maybe it comes down more to how many people are on than the size/number of threads?

I have the cheapest DSL that AT&T can provide, and it loads fine for me.

Well I guess I just have crappy internet connection xD

And thanks for the tip, too!
But if it's just me that has this whole 'slow internet problem' then maybe I shouldn't bother with it.

m- Try switching to Firefox as your browser.  My worthy spouse says it loads much much faster.

Maybe you might want to check for adware, or do a defrag and disc cleanup? Those are things that will make your internet slow.
