Aug 01 2009 09:50 pm #3Guest In my baby book it says that Buffy means "Buffalo". Bunny must be an alternative meaning. I always thought Tara meant "earth". In french earth is "terre", spanish "tierra", latin "terra". It just seemed logical to me. But hillside could just be an alternative meaning like Bunny :P I think Cordelia is the nicest name of them all. And Lawrence just reminds me of "Lawrence Of Arabia".... God that movie just went on and on and on and on forever. "Look, he's behind that sand dune!!!" "Which one????" One day if and when I have kids (when I'm older and far less stupid), I think I'll name the boy Broderick. It sounds strong but not too macho. I could call him Brodie ^^ As for girl names.... Hmmm... I've always liked the names Hazel, Holly and Celina... My boyfriend likes the name Valentine for a boy... It sounds nice and I know it's unisex but...... I had to say "no" to him lol But who knows.. Maybe I'll never have any.. The world seems too dangerous and screwed up.. The school systems are horrible... If I did, I'd make sure I had enough money to home school them. Mesh~ Aug 01 2009 10:04 pm #4Guest So the guy in love with clothes has a girl-sounding name, and has horns, and his name means "laurel-crowned"? Here's a good resource if you're interested in the origins, meanings, and variations of names. It's great for picking out names for OCs, too. Behind the Name Aug 02 2009 10:40 pm #7Spikez_tart St. Giles was also the patron saint of the insane. I thought Buffy was a nickname for Elizabeth? If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? I thought Buffy was a nickname for Elizabeth? It usually is, although not in the case of our Buffy. Interestingly, if you search for "Buffy" on that website Abby posted, here's what comes up: "Diminutive of ELIZABETH, from a child's pronunciation of the final syllable. It is now associated with the main character from the television series 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' (1997-2003)." Writing should feel easy, like a monkey driving a speed boat. They gave this character an awesome name, the perfect fit for The Fallen Man, The Demon, The Magic, The Call To Service, The Incarnation of both Good and Evil, and his long and constant struggle on a path of atonement. Mind if I snag the listing - ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.
