I'm writing an article for my Magazine journalism course, and my subject is anorexia. The angle is how getting ready for summer and trying to lose weight can get out of control. I've had all these other cool ideas, but my prof pretty much screwed me over when she said we had to make it related to Spring 2010. I want to write a story with human interest instead of something Easter like, and I thought it would be a good metaphor to write about someone who went through anorexia and came through... a new life and a new beginning as a metaphor for spring. Except, I need case studies... people that experienced it and wouldn't mind talking about it. I know someone, but she's still not over it so it might be hard for her to talk about it. Probably a zero chance, but is there anyone who had anorexia and wouldn't mind answering a few questions? I would be very grateful! Please contact me either through BSV mesages, or straight via my e-mail... the.enemy.of.reality@hotmail.com

I wasn't sure if I could post this on the forum, so feel free to let me know and I'll delete it. :)

Thank you!!!

I wonder if maybe doing a paper from the perspective of  someone who has lived with the disease in the family might be another way to approach the subject.    I know that for a friend of mine who lives with a wife, whom he loves dearly, that suffers from severe depression, his struggles with coping are also very difficult.
” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.”

That's actually a really great idea, nmcil! Sometimes it's even more difficult for the family and those who care about the person in question as they must feel really helpless. It makes for a more original angle to the story and shows that such thing affects many people, not just one person. Thank you, you're brilliant!
