BSV Forum - Writing - General Tips A Look at the Upcoming Holiday Update and What It Means for Players The latest preview footage of the upcoming holiday update shows just how much the game is about to change. If you’ve been following the developer’s pattern over the past months, you’ll know that the team loves to expand old events, revisit fan-favorite creatures, and build new seasonal systems around familiar mechanics. This week’s leaks and tests revealed a massive list of new holiday creatures, visual improvements, and even a new multiplier tier that might seriously shift the pace of progression. A Cleaner Map and a Better Look at EventsOne of the first things that caught my attention in the footage was the difference in map visibility. When the player triggered the Plants Versus Brainrot event through admin commands, all the old vision-blocking walls disappeared. For the first time, you could see the entire cave clearly as the creatures rushed outward. It might seem like a small change, but for players who enjoy collecting, fighting, or just hanging around in their base, the improved visibility feels like a big upgrade. It makes the world more open and readable, which is a welcome improvement after spending months navigating tight and cluttered areas. The Return of Tum Tum and the Coffin RitualLong-time players will probably smile at the return of Tum Tum in the new coffin version. The creator recreated the famous meme of dancing pallbearers carrying a coffin, and it fits surprisingly well into the game’s chaotic tone. According to the preview, the new Tum Tum will appear through a ritual animation where the coffin shakes, falls, and opens. If a player buys him, he joins their base. If not, he walks off in search of another spot. It’s similar to previous ritual creatures, but the presentation is much more polished this time. Milk, Cookies, and More Holiday-Themed CreaturesEvery December update leans heavily into classic holiday visuals, and this one is no exception. The Milk and Cookie duo is making its seasonal debut, joining other returning pairs like Chipson Kessel or Coxinha and Coquinha. The developer even confirmed plans for a future South American event, which explains why some Brazil-inspired designs appeared in the test server. One of the most surprising additions is the huge Gum-Bike-Santa hybrid. Unlike normal creatures, this one takes up such a large space that it barely fits inside the base area. Because of that, players still aren’t sure whether it belongs to a limited event or a base creature category. If it becomes an event spawn, it could easily become the highlight of the holiday map. Imagine it dropping gifts that transform creatures, just like the pumpkin mutation system during Halloween. On Getting Rare Creatures the Right WaySome players prefer to jump straight into collecting the rarest creatures, especially the ones with special mutations or seasonal effects. I’ve personally tried many methods across different updates, and while there are plenty of ways to speed up your progress, you still need patience. If you're aiming to buy sab brainrots, do it only at the right stage of your playthrough so you don’t waste resources too early. They work best when paired with multipliers and consistent upgrades, so timing matters more than most people think. Holiday Versions of Familiar CreaturesJust like in previous years, every major creature family seems to be getting a new holiday variant. We’ve already seen the gingerbread Exocécula, and now a third Christmas version is confirmed. The Lavaca line is also expanding, even though most players consider basic Lavaca one of the weakest creatures in the entire game. Still, every holiday update brings at least one new Lavaca variant, so seeing a Christmas version only follows the established pattern. Whenever a new Lavaca arrives, there’s almost always a matching Lagrande Combination. If that pattern continues, we’ll likely see a massive Christmas combination form added to the crafting roster. Considering how many Lagrande versions exist already, adding one more feels inevitable. The Arrival of a 12x MultiplierPerhaps the biggest gameplay change is the new 12x multiplier. Up until now, most players only had access to 10x multipliers through special events or long-term grinding. With the upcoming update, the 12x tier will become permanently available, at least for advanced players. If the developer follows their usual pattern, a smaller purchasable multiplier like 6x will appear as well. This would fill the gap between early and late-game pacing and reduce some of the grind that newer players struggle with. Base Raids, Traps, and Player TricksThe footage also showed several moments of players using traps, rockets, invisibility, and special items to raid each other’s bases. It’s chaotic, unpredictable, and honestly one of the most entertaining parts of the game when everyone understands the risks. One scene had the creator sneaking into a private server, using a swap-body trap, and then getting launched across the map while trying to steal a creature. If you plan to raid other players, the trick is to stay patient and observe patterns. Most players leave openings without realizing it. Just don’t overdo it, especially with strangers, unless you want your name spread across every server as troublemaker. Browsing Shops and Community ModsMany players rely on community stores and modded servers to experiment with new creatures before they reach the official update. During testing, I saw several unreleased Christmas versions, new legendary designs, and even cursed variants like a dark Dragon Canelone with evil-themed effects. Some mod servers even allow you to spawn admin creatures directly. If you’re exploring these custom shops, avoid trying to steal a brainrot characters store item or copying someone’s private collection. Community stores rely on trust, and the economy collapses quickly when players start abusing these systems. If you want to test advanced creatures early, modded servers already provide controlled ways to do that. What to Expect on Update DayThe developer has confirmed a release schedule: the Christmas creatures, new map decorations, and seasonal systems arrive on the 6th. Saturday’s update will instead focus on the 12x multiplier and the return of another popular creature. If the developer keeps the same format as previous years, expect a mix of predictable classics and at least one surprising mechanic hidden in the event. What excites me most is the new giant potion. It doesn’t enlarge creatures, but it enlarges the player’s own camera view, which sounds chaotic and fun for base fights. Mixed with the upcoming rebirth that grants huge bonuses, this update looks like one of the biggest progression leaps we’ve had in months. The holiday update seems packed with both cosmetic fun and practical progression features. Between new seasonal creatures, the massive multiplier expansion, and improved event visuals, players of all levels should find something worth exploring. Whether you’re a collector, a fighter, or a builder, this update pushes the game’s variety forward in a meaningful way. Replay Tips: How to Unlock the Second Floor in Steal a Brainrot 1 | |||
