A friend in need is a friend indeed

I was making an exhibit for the on campus Science Exhibition with my friends A and B. We 've been good friends for two years. Friend A bailed out on us completely and B and I had to do it. When I checked in the morning I found the model wasn't working properly and some parts had to be redone. I called B but she refused to help and I had to do it all by my self. They made all sorts of excuses. This week we had tons of other work too so while I am spending my weekend working they've finished and will be enjoying a free Sunday. I'm so mad at them. This is the first time they've done something like this. I don't know what to do. I mean my B'day on the 14 th and I don't want to celebrate without my best friends but I'm so angry! What to do?

I had situations like this, but luckily not with my friends, just with some lazy kids I was  unfortunate enough to go to high school with. Most of the time, when working in a group, me and one or two of the others ended up doing all the work.

If I were I'd try to forget about what happened for a few days, until after your birthday. Enjoy your birthday. After that, just vent and tell them you are really mad at them for not helping you. Or vent before the 14th and hope everything is settled by the time you celebrate your birthday..

Also, if the project's graded, I'd threaten to tell the teacher that A didn't do anything, that should be incentive enough for him/her to at least apologize.
But then again, I've always been a tattle-tale when it comes to situations like this.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your birthday!

Can't tattle on friends. I'll just vent and hope it settles down soon. Thanx.
