JM to have a reaccuring guest star role on Without A Trace

Aug 15 2007 06:40 pm   #1maryperk

I got this email this morning.

JAMES JOINS CBS HIT DRAMA WITHOUT A TRACE

James has been cast in a recurring/guest star role on the hit CBS one hour drama Without A Trace.  He will portray 'Detective Mars', who is described as: "mid 30s to 40.  Attractive in a real way, a bright, full-of-life personality, charming, possibly from around the Washington DC area, so could have a slight southern accent. Mars is a Police Detective who has started to investigate what seems to be a ring of Human Trafficking.  He has information our FBI team is interested in and comes to New York to speak to Vivian about what he knows.  Eventually he will become part of a task force to deal with Human Trafficking."  GUEST STAR, RECURRING ROLE.

The role films in both New York and Los Angeles. Once we have air dates, we will post them.

I KNOW!!!!!!!!

It's fantabulous, awesome, about dang time news! The show has great ratings, both overall and for CBS, and Michael Ausiello is reporting that the role is possible for series regular-ness.

OMG! YAY! And it doesn't hurt that I love this show so i don't have to start watching it beacuse he's going to be on it. This is great, no better than great it's awesome. I'm so excited I can't type, lol.

I was just thinking wouldn't it be cool if James joined CSI Vegas, but I'll take this too!

Cool! My roomie thinks he'll be Poppy Montgomery's char's ex-husband they keep alluding to.

He plays Grant Mars, and he'll be starting in the 4th episode.

When does the season start?  I've never watched that show... Hell, I've never watched CBS.  But I guess it's time to try something new :D

Amen, Scarlet!  (I think we need an amen-hallelujah smiley.  It could have choir robes and wave it's hands in the air :-)  )  Time to start something new.  And I'll have three episodes to convince my husband that I started watching a new show out of curiosity :-D

This is awesome!  I'm so glad he's getting a prime time show.  He really deserves it.  And on a big network.  This and a movie, looks like he's finally getting noticed for his talents.

ROFL! IB, I make no apologies... I'm only gonna watch it because of James (but good lord, it's gotta be better than Saving Grace).

Yup, only watched Smallville for James, too, lol. Just like WAT I watched the first season or two then something else came on at the same time that was better, then James comes along and I have to watch it for him ^.^

You know, considering how many of us Jimmy freaks there are around the world and the fact that we'll watch something just 'cause he's in it, they could put him in any show, and the ratings would skyrocket.  WAKE UP AND SMELL THE MIDDLE-AGED HUNK, NETWORK TV!!!!  We want our Jimmy!

Give me Spuffy, or give me death.
Aug 16 2007 03:05 am   #15Scarlet Ibis

Hey- he's not middle aged! lol

Okay, but does anyone know when this show actually starts?  Time and date, cause I'd like to watch it from the beginning of the season, since I don't know what the hell is going on :D

Thanks!

Someone's in middle-aged crush denial *sticks out tongue* And I'm sure as it gets closer to the beginning of the new tv season we'll see tons of commercials, so don't worry Scarlet... or IMDB might have the dates or it might be too soon for it to show up there

You can see the CBS Fall schedule here.  You know something, now that I know james is going to be on WAT, and I see that it's up against ER, I think NBC's medical drama is in for a fight. I liked Shark, which they've moved to Sunday nights, but that's cool.

Thanks, GB.  And mid forties isn't middle aged.  Don't care what any of you say, so there!

I was going to say you were 45 too and I was ruining your aging denial, but then your profile said you were my baby sister's age *scratches head* You just wonky, yeah? lol :P

And it's middle aged because it's in the MIDDLE of the normal human lifespan of about 80 yrs, so there

You're welcome SI! Well, yeah, he is middle aged, but he doesn't look it so there's points for that, lol.

Yes- my friends all think me weird cause I'd date a forty-five year old man, and I don't think it's old.  But it's like duh- it's James!

Isn't his birthday tm or something?  Or the 22nd?  I'm confused cause of the many August b-days in my family.

I'd never date a man old enough to be my daddy either, but I'd make an exception for James.... not that that would ever happen, so my morals are safe, lol

His birthday's the 20th.

I normally watch ER, so I've got a conflict of interest....gonna have to do some creative VCR configuring.

I used to love ER, but by 2005 I just couldn't get into it anymore. You know, once Noah left i was like "No, he was the last original one." *cries* So I found WAT, lol.

Wonderful news - I am so happy for him - just hope that the series continues to do well - I have never seen it - Been watching season 6 and 7 while getting ready for an exhibition and was again reminded why I loved this actor so very much - His Spike is a grand interpretation -

Thanks for the info -

It's been on for quite a few seasons, four at least, maybe more, I havent kept a close eye on it.  I think it's pretty good even though I don't watch it religiously or anything.

Aug 24 2007 07:36 pm   #33pfeifferpack

It's on CBS and has been in the top ten with the ratings (Nielson) consistently.  James will be in a 5 episode arc so it won't be some 5 minute scene.  The show is on Thursdays in the USA at 10pm ET/PT and is scheduled to start Sept. 27 (I'm pretty sure).  It is really a nicely done crime show about an FBI team that investigate missing persons....some are victims of murder, some not.  Every time I've been home and able to watch it has entertained nicely (much like Law and Order or CSI do) but I've not been such a rabid fan that I tape or anything.  It's a great place for JM to showcase what he has to offer though.

Here's an interview with James from EW.com about his new role (among other things, including Buffy, PS I Love You, and his music). Turns out he beat out Nicholas Brendon for the WAT part.

JM: "I'm going to draw my gun manfully."

I'm sure you will, James. I'm sure you will.

Yes, the 27th. He's introduced in that episode. This is the 6th season.

The UK does get the show, but you guys are behind on seasons.

I love that interview. And they even included a recent picture, for a change! 5 eps! Squee!
