Question about our not favourite potential.

Sep 04 2007 11:18 am   #1cereza

Do you know what is Kennedy's surname? She appears in further chapters of my story, that's why I need to know her last name. I looked it up in Restless - BtVS Trivia Guide, but without luck. Can you help me, guys?

If she wasn't named at all and you're more or less sure of it, tell me that - I'll give her a surname myself.

LOL - I tried searching for this for awhile, then I realized it would be more fun to just make up a name anyway.  I actually used "Kennedy" as part of a hyphenated surname - "Miriam Kennedy-Corliss."  I figured she thought that just "Kennedy" sounded tougher, and decided to go by that nickname.

Nothing turns up on search so I don't think they gave her (or most of the potentials) a surname.  You could get all funky politically and name her Nixon *G*.....or even jab at one of our ME writers, Noxon LOL.

Huh, I see I can do with her whatever I want to *evil grin* I actually like your idea to give her president's name, Kathleen, however I'm not sure of Nixon. What about Fitzgerald, or even better, John-Fitzgerald? Okay, a question here: can somebody's name be "John" at all? I'm asking, 'cos I don't know much about American surnames. But if it's possible... Kennedy John-Fitzgerald. Oh, I'm so gonna torture her with that one!

Red Wulf claims its Hornhouser.  I'm sure he's right.

If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?

Oh, you've ruined my fun! *pout*

Nah, I'm only joking. Thank you very much for this piece of information - I'm trying to stick to the canon, so I'm sure I'll use that.

Hornhouser? That one's really stupid *wink*

Out of curiosity I went to Wikipedia to see if anyone had entered a surname for Kennedy.  She isn't even listed on any of the BtVS categories.  Molly, Vi, Amanda, Rona, Cho-An, Caridad are all mentioned but no Kennedy LOL.  I just thought that was funny in a sad way (considering how hated her character was maybe that is why there is no entry *G*).  I actually liked the actress and felt sorry for her.  The one scene with Willow at the end was quite hot too so it wasn't lack of sex appeal.

That's weird... I just googled "Kennedy Hornhouser" and the only results were a pair of fics (one by Red Wulf and the other by Ariel Dawn).  In that case, I guess its still up for grabs.  :)

Oh Kathleen, I found the wiki entry on Kennedy.  It wasn't straightforward to find, I had to dig through a Willow article to get the link:

Kennedy's fan listing - stop snickering! - also lists her surname as undisclosed. Check it out at: http://fanatic.nanashi-inc.net/kennedy/kennedy.php

Cereza, name Kennedy what you like, but my take would be that giving her an eye-poppingly quirky name like Kennedy John-Fitzgerald would be a plot point. It would have to explain something about her backstory or provide a reason for her to do something. Not that parents never name their kids outrageous things, but that would be a whopper.

Sorta off-topic, but that Kennedy collage at the top is fantastic!  Tell me she doesn't look Satanic in every single one of those stills!

Maybe you're right. But Kennedy already became a rather important (however not positive) character in my story. I'm not afraid of exploring her past, especially if it gives me more reasons of her behaviour.

Now that I'd be curious to read. With all those rage issues, there has to be a backstory.
