Where do you post?

Oct 19 2007 06:50 pm   #1goldenusagi

A question to the fanfic writers:  where do you post your Spuffy fics?  I ask because on different archives, sometimes I see the same fics, and sometimes fic are only on one site.  Where do you post yours?  The BSV, another archive as well, on your own site?  Just the BSV?  Any particular reason you do or don't post where you do?

Spuffy Realm, fanfic.net, aff.net and my LJ as well as several LJ communities.  Sometimes other places, but then they slip my mind when I update...so I just stick to those now.  Also, reviews is a contributing factor, though I must admit that the first three sites I mentioned don't compare to here and the LJ communities.

Well, I've only got the one story at the moment, but I'm posting it on several sites. I started out with ff.net, and then Mandi invited me to place it on Vampire's Kiss (the archive of which, sadly, is no longer active). Someone on that site suggested I post it on the Spuffy Realm and here, which I did. Since then I've also placed it on Elysian Fields and (at invitation) on Just Rewards. Just recently, the lovely admins at Nocturnal Light asked if they could archive the story at their site. And, of course, it's also on my live journal.

I post all my stories on my LJ and in time will have a second place on Insanejournal as a backup.  I post to various LJ communities as well but always cross post to my own journal (feel free to drop in anytime there BTW, I'm friendly).  All fic are in my memories and are tagged.

I have a website under construction but am having trouble with updating it so it has only very limited access at the moment....eventually it will house all.

BSV has all my stories that fit the criteria (Spike as vampire and so on), Spuffy Realm has all my Spuffy stories (since some of mine are just gen), Just Rewards has graciously allowed me to post all my stories in their archive as has Elysian Fields.  I used to archive at Vampires Kiss but it is gone now.

I put them as many places as I am offered to allow greater and easier access to potential readers.  I write to please myself but also so others can read the stories....have no plans of ever pulling stories from any place so they will always be available.

Don't post at FF.net cause I've heard terrible stories about the sorts of comments left there....besides it's so large I'd be lost!

I used to post at ff.net, but I stopped once I found other archives that were dedicated to Spuffy. Now I post here, at Elysian Fields, and until its recent demise, I posted at Vampire's Kiss. I'm also posting on my livejournal, and several LJ communities, depending on whether the fic suits their criteria.

I started with Spike/OC, so Beyond Twilight, which doesn't exist anymore, was my first home. Then FF.net, once I figured out how to use it, then Buffy-Spike Central until the crash, and then BSV and SR. I started a fic journal on LJ for OC fics when BT went down, and I still put everything on FF.net. The stuff that fits here and SR go where they should. Oh, and I recently added to Sweet Temptation for Spuffy AH/AU. I occasionally will start a story on my personal LJ with my flist before taking it elsewhere.

I started out at a now-defunct site called Inamorati, then Sinister Attraction and Vampire's Kiss which at that time didn't require me to do anything except give them a place from which they could pick up the stories as they were updated.  So I got myself a website at about the same time that The Bloodshedverse became my home  and this is where I now live. LOL  I posted for a while at Buffy/Spike Central which is also now gone.  Now, aside from here and my own website (which has everything in one place and clearly demonstrates that I have too much time on my hands), I post on my LJ, Spuffy Realm and Just Rewards.  I'm too lazy and forgetful to try to put my stuff up everywhere, so I stick with my site and those four places.

I used to post at a few different archives (some of which are now gone), but I found I was spending more time running around to the different archives than I was spending writing or with my family, so I no longer update at the various archives. I now only post on here, at my site and on Live Journal.

That and I'm a consummate nit-picker and am constantly changing words here and there to the stories I've written. Imagine going back to redo them at all the other sites. Oy vey!! Major time issues.

So, I post at my LJ and my site.

I've post stories that have won awards at FF over at JR, along with all my non-Spuffy stories. I've got a few up here, just some *cough*one-shots*cough*, and had thought about putting back some of my others, but then there's that time factor again. *sigh*

Aside from here, I post all of my Spuffy stories on Elysian Fields, Spuffy Realm, and FanFic.Net. My Lj gets any story I've written.

I post wherever I can, it tends to be a bit much at times.  FF.net, AFF.net, here, Spuffy Realm, Elysian Fields, Sweet Temptation, my LJ, and a couple of LJ communities.  I think that's about it.

When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.

BSC still exists: http://www.spuffyonline.com/bscentral/   They've just had coding issues with most people being able to update, and their one tech person is very busy. But you can read what's already there.

No, you can't even read the fictions there anymore.  You click on a story and only the author's notes are shown, if there is one.

I post here, SR, EF, ST, sometimes at my livejournal and also at my site. I used to at VK and sometimes over at FF.

I post at The Spuffy Realm, and just got myself a website so I am going to be working on that. I don't post on lj but do update announcements when I have the time.

But I don't post here, even if I spend just as much time reading her as The Spuffy Realm.
