What a fantasic story! I loved the way they found each other, you see the struggle, but it feels so right because you took your time telling their story. I love the way you used the Gem of A...there were so many potential story arcs the writers never took advantage of! I have to admit...I NEVER guessed the baby angle! Well done!

Some of my favorite scenes in this novel were the conversations that Willow and Buffy had concerning Spike. That's one of the things I missed during the latter part of the series. I laughed out loud when Willow got Buffy's dander up by telling her how nice Spike smelled!
I adored this story so much that I have to tell you something that I'd rather not. You should take a vacation from writing Spuffy and create a book with non-copywrited charactors.
But not a permanent vacation!

The first is with someone who knows the publisher that I want to submit it to and I'm nervously waiting to hear back from them.

I'm just getting to this ending right at the appropriate season. This chapter could almost be a stand alone Christmas ficlet.
Thanks for reading the story. I debated about if I should even write an epilogue. I rarely think they are needed, but I was in a gushy mood when I got to the end of this story. :)

LOL! Thanks for reading. And yeah, I could never do write the labor. I've done that five times. There's nothing romantic about it. It's too real for me and I'd have all the girls who've never had kids vowing to never have any. Some things are just best left unwritten. :)

Hon I just got caught up and have to tell you how much I loved this entire ride. I really do think you wrote Spike in character and had he been put in these circumstances he would have acted just as you have portrayed him to act soul or no soul, chip or no chip. In fact every character was spot on IMHO.
You put a smile on my face with the happiness here at the end and I was delighted that Annabella got a MyTwinn doll (I assume that is the company you meant.....we have a few in our collection including one of me at age 5 and Jim at age 8)....a perfect gift. Love that you continued that relationship too. It added a lot to show him interact with the child BEFORE he found out he was a daddy to be.
Excellent from start to finish. I especially love the irony of how it all began. Harmony wanting to get rid of Buffy to have Spike for herself instead led to her end and the beginning of Spuffy....delicious irony! The Gem's properties made COMPLETE sense! Really well thought out use of that plot device.
Wonderful and worth savoring more than one time.

As they say in girlville - "oh, how cute" - wonderful Spuffy Ending - Joyce got to be a grand mom after all - NICE to have Buffy and Spike find happiness and love together -
