what an absoloutely horrible choice to have to make!  But it hopefully will mean the First can't use that against him even if it shows up.

This was a vivid, emotional chapter.  I loved seeing Spike and his mother having such a touching reunion and it seems to have opened Buffy's eyes to the man he was.

In all his years as a vampire, killing his mother seems to be the one act he regrets the most.  It's terrible that Spike has to go through it again.

Oh GOD...poor Spike!  The idea of having to kill her yet a third time is unthinkable.  Best to leave her to the disease that would have claimed her inevitably.

Love the plot device of making Buffy invisible to all but Spike.  This covers any issue of the modern girl with modern ways and dress having to fit in Victorian England.  Spike has a confidante and yet she doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

So kind of Buffy to assure Spike that his mum DOES/did love him.  He needed to hear that.  Wonder when she will realize that Spike/William clearly was and is able to love even after being sired.  That would mean that he does love her.  That could change everything between them.

I have a bad feeling about jealous Angel being involved at all.  He's likely to muck about and cause trouble.

Excellent.

Good to see you updating this one too.

I wonder if what Spike will do will change the future in any way (or if it will be stay the same when they are back home.
Hard decisions for Spike to make.

Oh, poor Spike!  I'm glad Buffy gets to see how much he cares for his Mum.  Another example of his humanity for her to see.  But I really feel for him having to kill his mother all over again.

This story is quite good.  Update soon.
