Wonderful short story - great reading it again.  

NICE - I really like how you ended this - it's, I think realistic for where the characters were in the series.  This is a great alternative story for the great Giles become Demon event.

Love this short story - wonderful variation on the episode. 

Good story.  Solid plot that offered variety and moved along well, without getting bogged down.  The characters were all accurately depicted, except perhaps for Buffy knocking out Riley and locking him up--which is fine as far as I'm concerned, and I suspect most readers. ;) Fyarl Giles and Ethan jumping in with both feet to remove Spike's chip were especially true to form, I thought.  Also liked the uncertainty of the ending, after action and comedy that had gone before.

whenever  I need a good well written fic I come back to yours, haven't read this one before - lovely and yes kinda sad at the end especially as Spike had done what he could to help.

LOL- loved Spike and Giles Excellent adventure.  :)

This was filled with lots of nice litle twists that I didn't see coming...Ethan taking out Spike's chip, Spike letting Ethan as the owl get away, Ethan's fun, teasing comment to Giles about the full moon (it teased your readers, too~), and Spike actually leaving at the end.  What a sweet interaction between Spike and Buffy as they mull over what to do about Spike's lack of chip.  I liked how you didn't take the easy way out by Spike promising not to bite anyone and left them to struggle with the implications--after I got over the shock that you were truly going to have him leave at the end!  Nicely done!

great story and loved the fun Riley bashing, just a little.  It's always good to read stories from the early seasons. 

Wonderful little story.  Bittersweet at the end.  I hope there's more.

Nice little one shot.  This was always a wasted opportunity for Spike and Giles, glad you've fixed it.

Oh, I love it! Riley has proved he hasn't got a clue, Buffy has found she doesn't want to stake Spike even though he is free from his leash, and he's gone off to prove to himself and to Buffy he can control himself without the chip's restraint. Please can we have a sequel - Spike returns to help when Maggie tries to kill Buffy or for the fight against Faith or Adam?

Loved that.  Just needs to prove to himself that he can do it for her, without her.  Such a fantastic good bye.  Loved it as it is, and the potential for more.  Update soon!
