Xander is an ass. I really don't like him. Most of the time I wanna bitch slam him. Not slap, slam. But you kept him in character, so good on you. Seems like this is wrapping up, which is sad. I like the way you write and I like the pace. Good job.

And I too find it really hard not to go over the top with Xander, because I totally can't stand him. I find it hard to rewatch some of the Xander heavy episodes because he pisses me off so very much.

You just reminded me again of how much I hate Xander. Too, too selfish and jealous... I hope someone other than Dawn and Tara can see how Spike is suffering from his perceived almost failure.
Even in rewatching some of the early episodes of Buffy, I find myself wanting to pound Xander on a fairly regular basis. I haven't figured out a believable way to kill him yet...

I'm glad they, well except for Xander who I felt was always very thickheaded, were supportive to Spike. Loved how Tara spoke her peace. Onto the next chapter.

glad they got back. i'm thinking they'll be surprised at how buffy reacts to spike when she wakes up.

Have I mentioned before that I think you are a wonderful writer and really know how to spin a damn fine yarn! I truly read each chapter with bated breath. I love your characterisations, they are so true and I can actually picture the scenes. Fantastic again.

Wonderful description of the return with Giles being pragmatic and Xander being his usual self. Hopefully his trils and tribulations when rescuing Buffy will finally earn him a bit of respect with the Scoobies. Waiting to find out Buffy's reaction when she wakes up...
Hopefully she will wake up soon (if I get all this stupid work done so I can write...)

Superb update. Love the way you portrayed the characters: Spike, Xander, willow...can't wait for Buffy to awake. I'm enjoying the (is it daily?) frequent updates.
I had a lot of it written before I started posting, hence the frequent updates.
The next chapter may take a little longer, as I am a)not happy with it yet and b) swamped at work.
