“I say something I have done, and if you haven’t done it, you have to drink.”

“Well, that’s going to get me drunk pronto.”

“Now you get it.”

I absolutely cracked up at this part!! Who said that Spike can't plan ahead? His rather devious idea worked out quite well!! Especially when you look at Buffy at the end of the chapter!! That girl was well and truly fershnickered!! :)

There were so many great lines in this chapter it's hard to name all my favourites but I totally loved Buffy's reply of "What am I saying? Of course you have" in relation to Spike running naked in Madrid. I also had to smile at her demanding he tell her the story surrounding this particular incident! Jealous Buffy will stop at nothing to satisfy her curiosity!

The glimpse of completely naughty Spike when Buffy tells him to drink and he "smirked and bent down to nip at her inner thigh" with his "lips trailing a hot path higher and higher" was extremely delicious!! ") And then the lovely bit where Buffy licks the drop of alcohol from the corner of his mouth leading to a rather hot kiss had me leaning forward in anticipation! Even though I didn't get more action of the bedroom variety at that moment, I adore how you delved into Buffy's feelings (this brought on satisfaction of a totally different kind!!).

"What she felt for Spike, she couldn’t compare to the way she felt for Angel. Because what she had with Spike didn’t feel like standing on the brink waiting for something bad to happen, always being suspended in longing for something she knew wouldn’t come."

"Spike made her laugh rather than cry and now that she had come to know him, Buffy realised what it felt like to be with someone who was her equal. How well they fit together. How it was futile to keep pretending she wasn’t falling in love with this incredible man that made her feel like a woman rather than a girl."

These two paragraphs were probably my top favourites in the whole chapter! Buffy realising what an emotionally destructive relationship she actually had with Angel compared to the more mature and healthy one she is gradually building with Spike. And her revelation of "And the way he was gazing at her with such adoration in his eyes, open and so much like her, had her acknowledging that even if given the choice to be with Angel, she would choose Spike" had me cheering like a maniac!! Spike, you never have to be second best again!! :)

The part where Buffy straddles Spike's lap and hugs him and we have the brief exchange of “What’s this all about then?” “Just felt like hugging you.” “Oh. Alright.” was such a girlfriend/boyfriend moment that my heart positively glowed!! :) It was such a sweet moment, so thank you for putting it in there!!

And then we get to the more heated part of the chapter! Drunk Buffy certainly is take control Buffy!! I love her lines of "I want to nuzzle your belly,” “Wanna lick your belly button.” “Cutesy little button!” No wonder Spike had such a hard time resisting! ") Mind you, it says a lot for how he loves that he doesn't want to take advantage of her whilst she's in that state! That's my kind of man! :)

"He had gotten himself into quite a pickle this time, and the worst thing? He didn’t mind at all. But once the alcohol had worn off, all bets were off. He’d snog her little knickers off, the insufferable tease." I absolutely love this line! It sounds just like Spike!

The light-hearted dialogue between Buffy and Spike was wonderful to read and the more I see it the more I fall in love with this couple! Seriously, I don't think we'll ever see such a unique and beautiful relationship on television again as these two had by the time the end of Season 7 came around!!

Spike shooting a "reproaching look at his unruly privates" sent me into a fit of giggles! I can just see him doing that too with his blue eyes glowering fiercely! And lucky Buffy, I bet if her mind wasn't so clouded by alcohol she'd have kept up the touching of certain parts for a while longer!!

Buffy running around in the rain was too cute for words!! And wasn't it nice of Spike to let her do it? Somehow I think Angel would've dragged her inside and remonstrated her for behaving like an immature child! And then we have Buffy revealing that she knows whose name it was that Spike cried out whilst he was indulging in the pleasures of the flesh with the Amazon woman. The way you wrote Spike's reaction was very convincing when one considers his character and personality and the fact that he would not want Buffy to know this particular piece of information as it would give her quite a powerful hold over him if she ever wanted to use it for the wrong reasons. Lucky for him, though, Buffy's equally smitten with him as he is with her!! :)

Buffy referring to sleeping together as having "sexy times" was just adorable and then when she says to Spike "Just have sex once and go, but… you wouldn’t now, would you?” my heart fairly melted at this glimpse into Buffy's desire to have this relationship mean as much to Spike as it does to her. And Spike's quiet "No, no I wouldn’t,” had me longing to be transported into the character of Buffy so I could just snuggle and love this gorgeous man for weeks without end!! :) And then, blimey you know how to leave a chapter on a cliff-hanger!! That line of “’Cause you love me?” had me almost falling off my chair!! I can't wait to see how Spike will react (I just hope he doesn't do something stupid, like deny it!!!).

This story is progressing so well and I really enjoy reading each chapter as they are revealed. The developing relationship between Buffy and Spike is simply beautiful to read and I adore each and every moment, even the painful ones as these also lend a feeling of depth and wholeness to their feelings. I certainly look forward to the next chapter with great anticipation!! :)
