Chapter: Chapter 5

I agree with the previous review.., I loved this, but it feels unfinished to me. like there are things left undone. I know 'always leave them wanting more' is a credo many writers follow and i've done it a lot myself but sometimes when one attempts to do that it makes the piece feel incomplete to some readers, perhaps bc we have a set thought in our minds as we read of what we WANT to see, lol.  Questions form as we read and it's up to the writer whether they're answered.

That said it is YOUR piece and if you say it's complete it is, and I mean absolutely no disrespect, you've woven a lovely tale here. I'd just like a small glimpse into their future, like.. when/under what circumstances did Spike get his soul? Was it before the battle with the First?,...if not how did they defeat the Turok-Han? Did Angel show up with his shiny bauble, and what did he have to say about S/B?

Important questions! LOL

I'd also have loved to see a glimpse at them in happy coupledom, maybe in an epilogue...but that's just me :P

All in all though this is a wonderful piece of fic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and if you should so be inclined to write a sequal I would be among the most appreciative :)

I do like this.  I love how respectful it is and how thoughtful it is, but like several of your stories, it ends at the beginning of a true relationship and I think that is unfortunate.  I do wish that you would develop that and show its power under duress more.  You take us up to the point of discovery, where the commitment begins, or just before that, at the point or realization, then you end it before true togetherness has a time to develop...  I always end up wishing there was one more chapter... not necessarily a whole book, but just a little coda.

Peace,

Blue
Thank you.  I'm going to give lots of thought to your comments here.  I usually end a story when I feel it is a natural conclusion to either mesh with canon or to imply how it would  go later.  A few were written with the intention of a sequel (and they'll get them all in good time when RL allows).  You make interesting points and I will mull it over as I continue to write stories.  Thanks for that!

Text Hi,  I enjoyed your take on the soul quest. Saw it rec'ed at the lj of moscow_watcher.
Liked especially that Spike should respect himself enough to not allow Buffy to hit him in the face whenever she felt like it. Thanks!

very sweet reunion - I like how you didn't just bang them back together, too.  Nice story.
