Ah, not familair with the comics then, are you? *g* Yeah, fanfic is probably about as close to happy Spuffy as they're likely to get, even though they are hanging out together a bit now.

I never read the comics and from what I have heard about them I am glad. They really don't seem to make sense. Dawn got turned into a giant by having sex with someone. Angel became something called Twillight and all magic is gone from the world. Buffy is sleeping with women now.
Sounds like one big acid trip dream! Obviously Angel survived the battle with the senior partners, did Spike and Illyra? If Spike did are Buffy and Spike a couple in the comics? Wait I don't know if I want an answer. Too confusing.

The comics - season eight - covered 40 some issues and took three years to unfold. There was a lot of ridiculous/terrible/nasty stuff in them. You've hit some of the most mocked or hated parts of it, although somewhat simplified from what actually happened... Season Nine (which, we've been assured will not have all those issues because Joss, et al have learned their lesson) has just begun. So, this ficlet could easily be canon - but probably won't be. :) I'm sure the comics are going to give authors plenty of opportunity to set fics in that world without actually following canon. Angel has his own comic with Faith. Spike is going to be part of Buffy's storyline, but I doubt if they will be a couple - or not for more than a few minutes, if I know Joss and his refusal to allow anyone to be happy or content. :)

I too had missed what the tat was, went back to reread it, can't believe I had missed reading it, it was right there. Very cute story hope the comics could come up with something as good.t
