Chapter: An Afternoon Off

Whew, this is exhausting.  They're all over her, I can feel the suffocation just reading it. (This part is a compliment, even if it doesn't read that way.)

Making it worse this was a Riley heavy chapter.  It has nothing to do with your writing, but I can't read Riley without having to channel the actor who played him.  It may be uncharitable, but that actor was soooo boring and wooden, it males even good writing boring because it has to be written in that voice.

Other than my own personal Riley problems, your world is really really good.  It's well thought out and feels maybe more alien than any alt reality I've ever read that didn't involve some horrible alternative. This is really normal but a completely different normal.

I feel like I'm about to start a ramble so I am just going to say awesome job.
Thanks again. I know, Riley is a tool. But it was interesting to think about how would he turn out if he didn't go hunting down vampire whores. Like you said - a completely different normal. And a normal that would probably be okay, were it not for the memory of the previous reality.

I love most of your stories and have really been enjoying this one as well, but........I can't take reading what Buffy is going through.  It is just too heartbreaking.  I'm hoping the next chapter, or the one after that, will start going in a better direction as I'm not sure how much more I can read of these scoobies and dull-o Riley.  :(

I do hope you can stay with it. I love my angst, I do. It will take a little longer for her to struggle through, but it shoudl be worth it in the end.

I love the super quick update!  'Off'' is the definitely the way to describe the afternoon, and definitely not in the nice relaxing sense.. it's like one of those dreams where everything goes wrong.  Where's the cavalry when you need it?
Thanks for the review! Hopefully the next update will come soon as well.

ClingyRiley is really getting to be a pain. I suspect this is how he would have turned out if Buffy had caught that helicopter. It's more of a character flw of his, rather than a reaction to Buffy's situation. And I wonder how much of the bad stuff in Buffy's medical records is because of Riley and the others finding her emotional raction to Joyce and Dawn's death unacceptable and deciding to 'fix' her, both with magic and medicine. Can't wait to see how she gets out of this...
You will see, but it will take a while

Poor Buffy, but this is hard for everyone, with the problem she had I understand that they are worried. It seems like Riley turned out well here since he was needed. I do feel bad for him.

Well, he turned out okay, but still a bit of a putz. Read on...

I knew they would use magic to track her. Even taking into consideration the emotional problems Buffy had (and lets face it they are completely understandable. Her mother dies then she loses Dawn. That would be enough to send anyone over the edge!) they can't just leave her be for a few minutes? They have to track her down like a wayward child? She had point, they consider her perfectly capable of putting her life on the line night after night slaying but she can't be left alone for a little while? Get a cloaking spell and the hell outta dodge!
As you read on, you'll see that while they really do overdo it, they think they have a reason to worry.
