So sad. Poor Spike, he was so lonely, and he knew Buffy would never love him back. The bot was no substitute, but it distracted him so he didn't go stalking Buffy, and was much better than being alone.

Yeah, this Buffy would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to understand him a LITTLE better with the Bot pointing out all these different facets to the poor guy.

Oh my. You tore my heart out with this one. Your Spike is so good - the demon is always there, and so is the Spike we grow to love - but I think you've outdone yourself on this one. Wonderful Spike and very believable Buffy. This may become my head canon for this point in the season.
This story was one of the first Spuffy story ideas I ever had. I was charmed by Spike's actual interactions with his robot, and the way the Buffybot described it, it was sordid and, as Buffy pointed out, obscene. The soft-spoken, heart-broken interactions he actually had with the poor thing were sad, not disgusting. I wanted to see what Buffy's reaction would be if she knew that sex with the thing wasn't actually his primary focus. He just wanted to... not be alone anymore.
