You suprised me, that went down without any fight. I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I was really hoping that Spike could get some physical payback from Riley who had sadisticly staked him. Riley may have the problem's with his command and the humiliation of finding out about his wife but I still thought he deserved more. At least Spike didn't tell them about Sam being infected. He's right, they will figure it out themselves. Two more to go. Great read, thanks.
Lol! lots of factors to consider... They need the army's help. On their own their one option is to kill Sam, not something that would go down well with Buffy. They need help soothing social services. Most imprtantly, as long as The Initiative don't know that Spike's chip isn't working (remember all Spike did before was to restrain Riley. Buffy did all the actual damage) that's a pretty big ace they have up their sleeves. All said and done, Riley was a dupe in this whole thing rather than part of it. While they had to take out the guards on the train, they really needed Graham and Riley on side for the aftermath. In comparison, some bruises here and there... not worth it, especially when he's already got to live with the humiliation of being so completely fooled about Sam and the fact his whole life is based on a series of lies...

Thank you, honey!

Yep, Willow called the shots and Dawnie was the one that paid the price... and not for the first time, either.

Nice bit of revenge for Spike - can't believe that Riley still doesn;t believe Spike can leave peacefully - shakes head that man is so dense. *growls* he would make an excellant member of Hitler's elite.
Hee! Well, in Riley's defence Spike never went out of his way to show Riley his 'softer' side...

Thanks again.

very good read, thanks. riley is dense. red is pushing all the wrong buttons with spike.
Thanks! Yep, Riley might have academic qualifications galore, but he was always someone's dupe, always too willing to jump to someone else's command without thinking.

Excellent chapter! And duh Riley didn't seem too bothered about his missus, did he?
Thanks, honey!

I think when you find out that your wife is capable of torturing a teenaged girl, then it might just be enough to bring you to the conclusion that they were never the person you thought they were.

Good chapter....

Lol...that's one thing you can count on from Riley - his faith that a demon will act like a demon if they're unrestrained. Benefits the group that he thinks Spike still has the chip, so doesn't matter now.

Yeah, a gyno exam if she was awake and tense would definitely not be comfortable. Hardly comfortable when you're prepared for it.

Have to be careful about Willow. She's not pulling power from the right source. Too much too soon will fry her head.

And I can just imagine Angel's look of impatience with Spike again. Those two can be so funny.
Thank you!

Riley is always much the same.

Nope, not very pleasant for Dawn at all.

Things with Willow will come to a head in the later books.

And, yes, Angel and Spike can work very well together.
