Chapter: Chapter 5

Go WIllow - go WIllow - go go go Willow! I love this - Giles is such a hypocrite - he doesn't care at all about Fred does he -but oh no not wesley. Can they shoot him again?

Oh and I will check on the fang fetish question - just as soon as i finish this story lol it is just to good to stop!
Lol! More Willow next chapter. Fred is nothing more than a name to Giles, and because he only knows her as a friend of Angel's and he doesn't have a high opinion of Angel...

Wes, he actually knew, and there's a good chance that even in the non-cyborg made up 'verse Wes's father may well be active in the council again, which means Giles would get to break the news.

No problem on the FF thing. The speed you read, it won't take you that long to finish.

Thanks, honey!

Poor Willow, she's not gonna find out anything good...sigh, awesome update!!
Thanks, honey! No Willow is not going to hear any good news.

I really start to dislike Giles more and more each chapter, not that that I was too fond of him after season 7 to begin with
poor Buffy, I hope they'll work things out, but I get the feeling I'll have to wait quite a while for my happy Spuffy moments (don't mind though :) )
:soon:
Thank you!

Giles wasn't all that likeable in S7, though to be fair I suspect he genuinely thought that he was doing what was right... Forty years of parental and council indoctrination are never really going to go away. His decision to refuse help when Fred was dying, however, has no rational basis at all.

And, yes, despite the fact the person for whom I'm writing this fic suddenly announced after reading Chapter 5 that I knew she would rather the fic didn't end Spuffy (I had asked her on at least two separate occasions before I began writing and received no response either way, so quite how I was meant to know I have no idea), that is the way it is eventually and inexorably headed, but I think Buffy may have to suffer a little longer before it all works itself out.

Dude after reading that chapter, Maybe Spike should have aimed higher...much higher, like nether regions, and for a guy to suggest that, *shudders* he seriously must deserve it :D

Poor Willow, didn't see the episode where Willow went to LA, but I can imagine they'd make excellent friends, very similar in charactor, both extreamly smart, quirky, caring etc. she must feel she's let her friend down without actually being given the choice to help her friend but as she agreed to the policy for no contact with W&H she might still feel guilty.

Still not feeling sorry for Buffy, she was the one who decided to date the immortal so she deserves the cold shoulder she is getting...unless smoe dark sinister force involved...even then I don't feel sorry for her...lol

well another great update
Update soon
Harry
Thanks!

I've always suspected that, in addition to the points Spike made, the very fact that it was Angel asking for help to save someone he cared for may well have seemed like the ideal opportunity for Giles to give Angel a taste of his own medicine (re Jenny)... Trouble is that it doesn't take account of the fact that Angel was by no means the only one to suffer.

wonderful read, thanks. i expect red is going to become irate when she hears the whole tale. love spike calling giles on his arrogance (among other things.)silence on buffy part is amazing, and probably keeping things from exploding. thanks again for the fine read.
Thank you!

Yep, I think Willow isn't going to be too happy at the idea of Giles taking away her freedom of choice.

I have a feeling that when Angel asked for help, Giles' refusal had a lot to do with payback for Jenny and W & H was a convenient excuse, but if so he never even considered the other people involved. Spike just reacquainted him with the real world.

Great chapter. I'm glad Buffy and Giles are going to have to deal with the consequences of their actions. I also think this will show Willow what it feels like to be a victim of "I know best", since she was guilty of doing the same thing more than once in the past. Can't wait for the next update!
Thank you, honey!

Yep, Buffy always seems to assume that everyone else will drop everything and everyone for her and Giles' thing with refusing to help Fred, I often think was his idea of getting his revenge for Jenny, with no regard for the fact that Angel wouldn't be the only to suffer. You're right about Willow but I don't know if she'll see it that way.

Good chapter.Update soon.I can see Willow wanting to have saved Fred, and thus Wes.I'm pretty sure Wes was an alcoholic by the time he died.I just have this story in my head set post NFA.Gunn is dead,
but Angel and Spike aren't.Angel is barely holding on.The Scoobies and Slayers arrived just in time to finish the battle.Angel is dying and Spike is crying. He loved Angel like a brother or father and didn't hate him.
Buffy's crying too,and Spike is trying to convince Angel to hold on.That's all I got so far.Update soon.
Thank you!

I'm sure that Willow would have done whatever she could to help Fred... and I'm equally cetain that having that opportunity stolen from her will make her more than a little tetchy.

I love Willow in this chapter, first her trying to make Buffy understand, then her comments to Giles when she realized the he had withheld information from her, and finally with her support of Angel and Spike telling their story. Thanks for the update.
Thank you!

Willow was always going to really be the only Scooby to whom Fred wasn't just some anonymous casualty.

Excellent! I love Angel's preferences for Giles. Good showing for Willow. You write a really great angry Spike. Thanks!
Thank you!

I'm really glad you're enjoying it. I have to say that I cringed when I saw what the birthday girl had asked for, but it's been a lot more fun to write than I thought it would be.

I love this story! I can't wait to see Willow's reaction to what happened to Fred.
The last three seasons of the show both Buffy and Giles got rather big heads. Neither seemed to grow out of this assumption. Giles thought he knew best and Buffy felt that everything in the world was all-about-her. They both need to be taught a lesson and I for one can't wait to see that happen.
Thanks, honey!

Unfortunately/fortunately, depending on viewpoint, Spike is right that Fred probably wouldn't approve of violence in her name. Honestly can't say how she would feel about payback for Wesley. After all, she was all for killing her ex-professor, but... Spike probably sees her as the gentle type.

Buffy, I think, is already getting a share of her own medicine and if violence and honesty don't get through Giles defences then maybe something else will.

I don't think Willow is going to let Giles squirm his way out of this.

His reaction to finding out who's party it is should be interesting.

And if Buffy or the Immortal scumbag tries to put thier two cents in then a rumble may be in order.

And Buffy definitely should be the one doing the chasing . Spike's put in enough time chasing her through many obstacles with very little to show for it. And after giving him grief for a long time about being normal , she goes and gives the Immortal the very basic relationship things that she denied Spike because he wasn't normal-like going out in public together for non slaying reasons.
Thank you, honey!

Couldn't agree more with all your comments. I guess we'll see how things go with Spike/Buffy once Giles is out of the way (and where the muse decides to take it) but, you're right Spike has done his share of the chasing.

Ho-ho! Yes! Let him really, truly have it...and let Buffy find out how the real world works. Willow's going to want to fry him, herself, by the time she hears the whole story.

Spike's speech was brilliant.
Yeah, I like the way Buffy gives Angel the cookie dough speech and expects him to wait around as a safety net while she also keeps Spike hanging and then she goes off with someone completely different but they're all meant to be there for her.

Willow is so not going to be happy. Fred would be one of the few people who she would be able to deal with as an intellectual equal and friend.

Sigh, Spike...

Thanks, honey!
