Omg.... You have no idea how long I've been looking for this fic. I remember reading it a while ago, and it wasn't finished, and then I took a break from reading Spuffy fics. I came back to reading them about 1-2 years later, desperately trying to find this fic... and now I have! Squeee. From what I remember from this, is that I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to read it all over again. I remember at first the idea of Spike being the all-round hero and saviour in the end of season 5 a bit.. hmm let's say unnatural? However as the story wore on I couldn't get enough of the concept... I'm excited!

The strenght of three slayers?!, what the hell?!. Who kicked Glorys ass in the ending?!. Last time i checked it was Buffy.

I'm very intrigued- although I have read a fic where Spike closes the portal instead... Very sad how that ended, and I'm off to chapter two to see if yours is a sad or happy continuance on to season 6...

Very intriguing. He took her blood so that he could close the portal. Very interested to see how this all play's out. Thanks for the twist.
I'm not sure just how original the twist is, but I'm glad you're intrigued by my story.

wow I really wasn't expecting Spike to be the one to close the protal. Makes sense if you consider her blood is now inside of him just as it would be in her. I can understand why Dawn was so freaked out by seeing him feed on Buffy though. Glad he did some explaining before he jumped so she would get why he did what he did. You have to love Spike for looking out for his girls
Spike's just cool like that. Or completely smitten. Glad you're liking it.

My "Love's Gift" (here on BSV and elsewhere) is vaguely similar (in that Spike drinks from Buffy and jumps) but this looks to be unique in many wonderful ways. Please continue this is really good.

Excellent fighting scenes, Y and I'm sure we're going to like your ending a lot better tha Joss's.
I find fighting scenes a bit difficult to write, for some bizarre reason. It helps that in this chapter all I had to do was mimic most of the fighting in "The Gift." Now that I'm spinning off of the canon, I'll have to rely on (gasp) my imagination. Thanks for reading!

I've only seen one other 'Spike jumps instead of Buffy' fanfic--but it's vastly different than this one. Looking forward to more of this one.

Good chapter.Update soon.I've only found one other story where Spike drinks Buffy's blood and jumps off the tower.It's on fanfiction.net,but I can't remember the name.Willow and Tara brought him back,but he came back as a human.Buffy had fallen into a depression following his death.
They ended up marrying in the epilogue.Xander wa shis best man. It was good,but I can't wait to see your take on this storyline.

I have most of this story outlined, and I had played around with the idea of bringing Spike back human, and ultimately decided against it. It's more interesting if he's not, don't you think? Thanks for reading and reviewing!
