Know you probably don't keep up with your reviews now - been a while since you posted anything thing here - but I just wanted to say again how very much I loved this piece. This was such a perfect comment on Spike's love for Buffy and her character traits in this part of the series - probably of all her relationship with Spike and her own struggles with her self-imposed barriers and her history with Angel/Angelus.
Sorry that you don't write anymore Spuffy - you were a wonderful voice for Spike and Buffy -

I want to smack her for not telling him she loved him before he left. Clearly she feels something, and it's more than fear of abandonment. I can't believe they shared something that intense and still it wasn't enough for her to admit that she feels something real for him. I do respect Spike for realizing he needs more, and not letting the physical change his need for the emotional. Really hope he comes back

Hi DMW - thanks for the review sweetheart. My AU fic should be finished over the weekend so I will start the sequel next week. It will be a different Spike that comes back - he will not be her lapdog any more

Great story; excellent characterizations for both of them. I don't think he should come back. He's made his escape from Buffy and I think he should find happiness somewhere else. AND - he shouldn't feel guilty when she dies, either! I think you nail her personality perfectly - she doesn't want him but she wants to control him. Thanks!

That was great - the fighting and arguing was fine. If you continue, I think Buffy is going to have to go looking for Spike. I'd like to see how she's going to convince him.

My vote is for the next chapter to be when Buffy realizes Spike is never coming back.
HI Richard, It will take some time for her to realise that she can't control him anymore. He is leaving to find some balls, and he will most definitely come back with them. The sequel should start next week - please watch out for it.

oh wow..that was painful and intense and so incredibly written....buffy realized, but it was too little too late....i'm glad spike left, he deserves better than she has to give at the moment..thanx so much for this awesome fic....

Too little too late, Buffy. I wonder how things will go with Riley now she knows what she's been missing. Should he come back? Not sure about that -- this Buffy deserves nothing from him.
Hi Lou, I think she realises that herself. When he comes back (will start to post next week) he will give her what for. I can't wait to start writing it, that's because I know how it will end - ah the joys of being the author.
