Chapter: Chapter Twenty-Six

NO, Willow pulled her back. NO. Poor William, now he's as good as dead. But that's cool cause we get Spike soon. Wonders what will happen when they meet up in teh present once more.
I really hated doing that to William. Unfortunately, the Muse insisted on it. Thanks for the review!

oh my no she can't go home now.

This is going to absolutely destroy William. Not to mention what seeing Spike again is going to do to Buffy. Now to see if he remembers her, or if that William was in a different universe.

Oh my goodness... I just read chapters 1-26 and I am hopelessly hooked! Please continue soon!!

03/15/2007 01:57 am
Okay, somehow I was expecting it, but I wasn't expecting her to fall off of the poor pony. I can say that my mouth fell open on that one.

I hope like hell that Spike remembers all of this when she returns. If not, that's just gonna be confusing.

Can't wait to see what happens. Can we have more please?

I really liked how you kept the tension up of when or if she was going to return to the future. I also liked how you resolved that one and added a few more. Good storytelling! Like most here, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Of course it would have to happen ow. I was kind of hoping he'd get to give her the ring, so she'd have it, but that's OK. Can't wait to see what's changed since she left...

I'm so glad you've updated this! It seems ages since it was updated, but I understand people get busy (it's probably not even that long to, I'm just obsessive!)

Wonderful chapter, but I have to admit I'm more excited about the next one! So is this it- Is she going back? Although I like this alot Ive been waiting for her to go back (I'm a Buffy/Spike shipper, not really a Buffy/William shipper, as I think i've said). Cannot wait to see how you deal with it, how much time has passed, how she adjusts to being back, whether Spike remembers or not!

And I may be jumping the gun a bit here, but I'm assuming that what that ending meant?!

Loving this fic, cannot wait for more! :)

Oh noooo!! Just when things were easing a little for William. God imagine having to go back to that mob in Sunnydale -- poor Buffy too.

03/14/2007 09:03 am
Gaaahhhhhhh I just knew they'd find a way to get her back and poor William would be left berift! As much as I've looked forward to the updates thus far, I am now aching for more! Need to see the fallout from this. Need to see Buffy react to Spike in her own time (and clearly see William still there).

Feel a bit sorry for Matthew at this point though *G*.

Excellent.

That was so evil of you! She went back without him giving her the ring. I hope he kept it so that he can give it to her there in SunnyD. I hate that she went back so soon. He gets to live his worst nightmare to punish himself for leaving her. Even as a demon he'll still carry that with him. Guess it means he meets Drusilla soon. Can't wait to see how you handle her return and when she'll go to him since he now has those memories of her, or will he be there when she arrives? So many possiblities. How has time differed between the future and the past? If it was during the same time, Spike would have told Willow about his memories as soon as he got them and that way she'd know where to look. If that's how it happened, he might have stuggled with it since he was so happy then and Buffy was his, all his and happy with him and the life they were going to have but that would mean that Bit would have been without her and he would always put her happiness above his own. Just want them together again and keeping my fingers crossed about a baby for them as a result of her trip to the past, for their future. Love this as you know by now, can't wait to see where you take this. Thanks.

ooooo, what a deliciously evil place to end the chapter! You're getting me back for all my evil cliffies, aren't you? Well, either way, wonderful job. Poor William, heartbreak won't even be able to begin to describe what this will do.

I am sobbing here. You've made me cry. Meanie!! Oh poor William. Poor Buffy. I wish William had had the opportunity to give Buffy the ring before she left. I JUST KNOW that you will make this right and that Spike kept the ring and will give it to Buffy in the present time. I'd be terribly excited and pleased if Buffy found herself preggers too. Hint, hint...WEG! Although I will miss the Victorian time, I look forward to the Spike and Buffy interaction now.

I my goodness!!! Don't leave it there! Poor William, he is going to be so devastated. Please post the next chapter soon.
As soon as possible, I promise. I'm glad you liked the chapter and thanks for reviewing!

Great to see an update, and what an update!
I'm glad you liked it. Thank you. :)

Nooooooooooo! Damn, damn, damn!! Please, *please* update soon.
I definitely hope to, if the Muse allows it. Thanks so much for your review!

I knew it! I knew it!
Great chapter. I wonder how things are going to be different back in Sunnydale. I can't wait to find out. Poor William. :(

I wonder if Spike still has the ring?
Patience, patience. You'll have to wait to find that out. ;)

Noo! Thats so mean, right after the engagement! I knew it was coming, but still! Can't wait to see how this plays out and if Spike remembers her.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm sorry to be mean. I really didn't want to hurt poor William, but that's just the turn the story took.

Thanks for reviewing!

Oh, wow... how tragic! Even though I knew it was coming, I kept hoping....
To be honest, so did I. But that's the way of the Muse...

Pulled home NOW?!!!!!!????? Oh NO!!!!

Um, since you've been so good about the historical correctness, may I point out....white gold wasn't in existence until about 1920. For 1880-ish, it could be yellow gold, silver, or platinum....but the amalgamation of white gold hadn't been invented, yet. I'm an antique jewelry buff, so...

Well, they pinpointed Buffy that well, she could have disappeared inside the house, or even right in front of Anne. Oh, dear....

I guess we'll get to the Spike portion soon, since William won't act wisely in his grief. He'll probably be searching for her 24-7, and get caught by Drusilla....Oh, dear....
Thanks so much for telling me that, Kim. It never even occurred to me that I should research the invention of white gold (big d'oh moment, that!). I've changed the band to silver, since platinum for some reason doesn't appeal to me, even thought it is worth more.

Thanks as always for taking the time to review--and for pointing out my error. I really appreciate it. :)

So, my initial reaction was, "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Not that I didn't know that Buffy's time with William was both inevitable and nigh, but I still hate to see a good thing end. It's all Buffy's fault for jinxing it with her, "I am never going to leave you." "Never" is always the kiss of death.

Poor William. He won't know what happened to Buffy. He went on a drinking binge when she rejected his proposal. Not sure he'd handle Buffy's disappearance nearly as well. My guess is that he'll go out and get himself vamped, but I suppose I'll have to wait and see. I'm not very good at waiting :P

As I've said before, I love your William. We never get much of him on the show, but we can still see vestiges of what we do see of William leftover in Spike. It's kind of the opposite here. There are tiny vestiges of Spike in William: his possessiveness of Buffy, his quick temper, his overwhelming desire to love and to be loved, and his willingness to do anything make that love happen. Your William is such a dynamic character. Technically, he's not an original character, but you've developed him so well that he feels as though you created him yourself. I will probably never be able to read another fic with William and not compare him to yours.
What a great compliment to my writing, thank you. :)

03/14/2007 03:12 am
Well, it had to happen sooner or later, and it's going to kill them both... or damned near to it.

Excellent job.
Thanks, spikes_heart. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Okay that was cruel. You should have at least let William give her the ring. Grrrr. Need more now.
If I had my way, he would have given her the ring, and they would have married and lived happily ever after. Unfortunately, my darned Muse has other plans.

More soon, I hope. Thanks as always for reviewing. :)
