So Where did the connection come from? I'm loving this so far. It's a new take on the idea fo Spike with a soul earlier. But what is Mahtiki's challenge? And the soul being it's own entity within Spike?

Great writing!  I like how you're dealing with Spike's soul, how it's alive within him and like a blank slate so there's no brooding.  I'm really looking forward to seeing what the connection is between Spike and Buffy - not to mention everyone else's reactions!
