I love this to itty bitty pieces!
Angel's a bit of a dick - but I love him being a bit of a dick, and it's not out of character by a long chalk.
And poor sweet Buffy - what an insightful look at how she might have mourned. I want to hug her.

Everyone in a sad state - and I'm guessing there's worse to come. Good start.
So I'm the one that made that challenge... I just got this penname. I'm glad someone answered it - I didn't really have much of a hope for it. I don't have time to write a story like that; I'm already working on several for a different website. If I ever finish it, I'll post the Buffy one here. In any case, I'm really glad someone answered it. I hope you will finish it. I can't wait to see how you go with the must haves... Are you going to include Spike's falling in love with Glory? I saw the two hellgods part. I can't wait. *bounces*

Oh, my heart is broken. That is one of the most poignantly beautiful conversations I've ever read of Buffy exploring her feelings for Spike post-"Chosen." Her description of going from elated and free to aching from missing Spike just made me want to cry. I love that the conversation happened between her and Dawn. I don't think that relationship is appreciated enough.
The Angel-Spike scene was equally heart-breaking. You description of their expressions was vivid and easily projectable in my mind. You captured their torturous relationship so well.
A wonderful first chapter. I am so looking forward to more.
Very glad you enjoyed it :) I'll be showing many sides of the relationships between each of the characters, from their best to their worst and everything funny or heartbreaking in between. I hope you enjoy each bit.

Oh, amazing beginning; can't wait to see where you take this, although I admit to being a little worried about Angel being in love with Spike (gag, argh, yerk); but I have faith; will wait and see. Please update this again soon!!!
