Perfect by nature
Icons of self indulgence
Just what we all need
More lies about a world that

Never was, and never will be
Have you no shame don't you see me
You know you've got everybody fooled

Look her she comes now
Bow down and stare in wonder
Oh how we love you
No flaws when you're pretending

But now I know she

Never was, and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

Without the mask where will you hide
Can't find yourself lost in your lie

I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don't love anymore

It never was, and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

It never was, and never will be
You're not real and you can't save me
Somehow now you're everybody's fool

You remember Parker? You should, I've only been writing about him for the past couple of weeks. Well it turns out that he's a total butthead. He's worse than a damned vamp, really! I found out he likes to play with the feelings of the pretty, new freshmen girls. Chats them up, and all, then makes them think that the whole idea of sleeping with him is their choice, when that's what all his crap was ultimately leading up to.

But I'll get back to that in a few minutes. Cause I've gotta write all this down in here so that Giles can analyze it later. With the Parker parts taken out, cause seriously my watcher doesn't need to know all about my sex life or lack there of.

So someone was digging stuff up from under the college. Bet you can guess who that someone was too. Of course it was Spike. The lame brain came back to town to dig a big hole, and collapse part of the campus, to find some stupid mystical gem. After he swore he wouldn't return again the last time he showed up in town. Seems he just can't keep that promise.

It all started with Harmony showing up behind the Bronze, and talking to Willow. The idiot had gotten herself vamped at Graduation last year, and she bit Wills. Do these idiot vampire's not know that going after the slayer's friends ultimately gets them staked? Or seriously beaten? Turns out she is Spike's new ho-bag. Which is probably one of the funniest things I've ever heard, Harmony and Spike! Too damned funny. I seriously don't know what's going through his dead brain. Maybe all that bleach has finally fried all the remaining braincells. I don't know, but it's damned funny.

Anyway, we (me and Parker) ran into them at a party with a half dead student slung between them. I made up some lame excuse to the little ass, and took off after the two half wits, running into Spike and fighting him 'til Harmony showed back up, and started talking about the Gem of Amara. Spike took off while I was distracted.

I found a pay phone and called Giles, who knew about the damned thing. Not much of a surprise there, but what the gem could do for a vampire was quite a revelation. The thing could make it's wearer, if vampiric in nature, in-freaking-vincible! Well that part was almost right.

So after calling Giles, I headed back into the party only to be talked into Parker's bed. Which I thought was my idea. We went up to his room, and well I'm sure you know what happened after that. Soo not going into the graphic details about that, cause seriously wasn't that memorable anyway.

The next morning, I woke up to an empty place beside me on the double bed, he'd gone to get some coffee. Then we'd talked a bit, he said he'd call, and he never did. Then I seen him out on the campus talking to another girl, and giving her the same sob story he'd given me. Of course I approached him, and asked what was going on. he gave me some spiel about me and the other girl liking each other. I walked off, the asshole. I should've told the girl what he was doing, but I was too upset to even care, hell let her find out for herself so she can feel the way I do.

I was taking a feel-sorry-for-myself walk away from the two on the bench when I heard Spike's voice, and turned to face him. I was ready to slay something at the time, and hell just the vamp I wanted to get ahold of had just found me.

Can I just say, Spike looked good out in the sun. Well if he'd of kept his big mouth shut anyway. Cause usually what comes out of his mouth no one wants to hear. He was asking about Parker taking a poke, and what it took to pry my dimpled knees apart. God the rage, and the pain I wanted to inflict upon him at that moment. He can go from 0-60 with just a few simple words, on my want to hurt him scale. Then I seen it the glow from the green of the gem set in the ring on his finger. I knew I had to get that off of his person.

We started to fight, trading blow for blow, sometime during the tussle Xander showed up to tell that Spike had the Gem, at least that's what I think was going on. Like I didn't already know that.

We fought for awhile, I got the upper hand at one point. Straddling his hips I could feel something that shouldn't have been anywhere near my person, and definitely not near where it was. It was disgusting! He was getting off on me beating the hell out of him! UGGH!!!

So we kept fighting then he got the upper hand, and had me around the neck with his arm, he wasn't expecting me to reach up and grab that ugly as hell ring from his hand. But the look on his face as he realized he didn't have his precious gem on anymore, god I wish I'd have had a camera. That expression was too priceless. He'd started to singe and smoke, hastily he'd made his way back to the man hole that he'd originally popped up out of, while I'd been making a fool out of myself to Parker.

**********

Still to this day she wanted to pummel the hell out of that little weasel Parker. She wondered if he'd made it out of Sunnydale before it had fallen into the great big sinkhole. On some level she hoped he hadn't, but he was human so she couldn't wish that he'd died in all the insaness that had happened.

She sat at that little desk and stared at the page for longer than she should have. Her mind had raced back to that day. She could remember the ring vividly, it had to be one of the most hideously ugly pieces of jewelry that she'd ever laid her eyes upon. She also wishes that she hadn't sent it to Angel, and kept it just in case she'd have needed it, but how was she to know what would happen in the next three years. She'd never expected that she'd ever need it, and she'd still been half-way in love with the souled vampire when she'd done what she'd did.

She had no idea that she'd end up falling in love with yet another vampire, and least of all the one that had been such a pain in her side since she'd known him. She'd needed that ring so she could've given it back to the vamp that she'd originally taken it from. Maybe it would've counteracted the effects of the other most hideous piece of jewelry that she'd ever seen. The damned thing could've possibly protected Spike in the hellmouth, and kept him from burning to a crispy critter.

But she seriously didn't know how that whole thing would've ended, no one could've predicted what the amulet would do. Especially with the vagueness of the explaination that Angel had given her about the damned thing. Scrubbing Bubbles, huh, yeah. WHATEVER! She shakes her head, and gives an ironic little laugh at the thought.

She couldn't sit here and contemplate the how's and why's. They wouldn't change any of the facts, and wouldn't do her any good anyway. There were so many things that she could've and should've done differently to keep Spike with her. But it was too little, too late by the time those thoughts had entered her mind.

Her tear filled eyes find their focus again on the page, landing on one of the worst mistakes that she'd ever had the displeasure of commiting.

Parker, the little butthead. He'd used her and thrown her out like yesterday's trash.

He'd probably used a hundred girls that way. His little lies and platitudes were so believable, god she hated that boy. At least Spike had been straight forward with what he'd planned to do, and he'd made no bones about it. He wanted her dead, then he'd just plain wanted her, then he'd loved her, and so on, ultimately dying so that she could live her life.

The worst thing that Parker had done was try and play his little act on Willow, the boy was a dense one that was for sure. Hello, Willow is Buffy's best friend. What did he think that she wouldn't tell her best friend all about the way he'd done her? That whole thing had really pissed her off, after she'd returned from being one million years b.c. Buffy. It had made her mad enough that she'd wanted to go out and stake him with Mr. Pointy, and not in a good way, either.

She distinctly remembered that she'd knocked him over the head a couple of times, and a big smile spreads over her face at the thought. In the end it wasn't really what he deserved, but it had felt pretty darned good to do it.

She'd taken what vengence she could, but hopefully one of the other girls had gotten revenge for them all. She really shouldn't be thinking and wishing that, but damn the little asshole deserved everything that he'd gotten and more, and if some one else had done it because she couldn't then more power to them, she'd even shake their hand if she ever met them.

At the time she'd taken what anger she could out on Spike. Especially after that little comment about her dimpled knees, at the time she'd wanted to say "like you'll ever find out." But she hadn't, and he had found out, in many different ways. She could feel her face turning red at the thought of some of the things Spike had found to pry them apart.

She'd wanted to stake his ass that day, but god she was so glad that he'd had that ring on when she'd actually managed to do it. She thanked god that thing had protected him.
