Some time in an alternate, nicer S5 - where the key is a key, Riley is gone, and Glory is somewhat misplaced in LA – a glimpse at a day in the life of Spike and Buffy.

Post Tabula Rasa. Spike takes his own course of action, trying to become a better man for his slayer.

AU during Dead Things. Instead of turning away from Spike's crypt that night, Buffy throws caution to the wind and enters, allowing him to make her feel and stepping onto a new path into the future.

S7 - End of Days - Following their conversation at Buffy's house, Spike leaves to go check out the vineyard.

Four years have passed since a certain peroxide blond vampire was last seen in Sunnydale losing the Gem of Amara to the Slayer. Since that time the Initiative has introduced chipped vampires into a form of slavery, available to selected bidders. Weary and disillusioned, Buffy succumbs to her absent Watcher’s advice to obtain a vampire bodyguard to help her in the fight against evil.

Post NFA. A heartbroken Buffy takes a small vacation in the English countryside to reflect on her loss and mourn a souled vampire’s passing. Joyce has other ideas and cajoles the Powers into providing a solution.
