BSV Forum - General - The Bloodshedpub Cute Hard-To-Notice Moments I was going through my My PhotoBucket and saw this screen cap: That's so cute. Everybody is discussing something, probably importat (forgot what), and there you see Xander and Anya lost in their own cute romantic world. I wonder if there are other moments like this? I prefer with Spuffy, do you remember something like this, so small and could be missed but so adorable when you notice it? Sep 26 2008 03:58 am #2Spikez_tart Buffy and Spike sitting on the floor, playing cards at her birthday party from Hell. Older and Far Away. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? Sep 26 2008 05:10 am #3Scarlet Ibis In "Triangle," when Buffy is knocked into Spike, and he catches her, he pulls her back down again, and does a tongue waggle when she gets up. I couldn't find a screen cap.... "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." https://www.facebook.com/FangirlNovel In "Bargaining," I love the tiny little blurb that I think got edited out of broadcast but appears on the DVD, when the Scoobies and Spike are chasing the vampire through the cemetery and Giles has to stop and catch his breath, he says something about how he doesn't think the vamp will be operating heavy machinery or something like that, and Spike stops to laugh along with him and play along before they get interrupted. I'm a sucker for "Spike-and-Giles-actually-get-along" moments. And in "Something Blue" I love the fact that at the end of the episode, Spike sits tied in the chair and Buffy is sitting on a barstool across from him and they're just staring at each other, looking like they've been that way for quite awhile before Willow interrupts with cookies. Sep 26 2008 05:36 am #5TammyDevil666 In "Listening to Fear," I think it was, I like when Spike holds his hand out to Buffy and helps her up. She could have easily ignored his gesture and stood on her own, but she took his hand. It might have lasted longer if Riley didn't show up when he did. I notice they have quite a few moments that involve hand holding. When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy. I love that taking of helping hand in "Listening to Fear" too - it does not happen often between them. ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Here is a cap I found today while cleaning out some of my files - I love the huge heart grave stone that was used in this scene - ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Yay, I'm gonna watch Listening to Fear while in my S5 re-watch, so I'll keep my eyes open for the hand holding :D nmcil, great catch! I never noticed this heart shaped grave before! I love the moment in Something Blue when blind Giles lurches off to the kitchen with the line : 'That's alright. I have more scotch.' As he turns, his sweater is stuck in his bum. It always cracks me up. Also in "Listening to Fear" when Spike and Buffy are fighting the Queller in the kitchen, how seamlessly Spike tosses Buffy the knife and she stabs the demon. Just a small example of how good they are together in every aspect! Oh, and I love the fact that Spike is genuinely freaked out the first time he sees the Queller, it even gets a scream out of him! *giggles* And I've always wondered, where exactly are Spike's hands in the above screencap? Can't really see them on the ground, or behind his head...up her skirt?? Sep 26 2008 06:17 pm #11TammyDevil666 Ha, okay, there's a few episodes that I'll be watching again. I don't remember that part with Giles in "Something Blue," and I don't remember the heart shaped grave. Also, in "Pangs," Buffy gives Spike a look across the table, not a hate-filled one either. I'm not sure what it means, or what Spike said to give him that look, but I liked it. I have found that the art and set design, especially in the small details, tell a big part of the Buffy-Spike story and give visual clues on just about every chapter - these visuals are another layer of the story telling. The Bot skirt is reminiscent of the late 50's early 60's clothing - the era when the subservient role woman played began to change in our society - Pink also, for many years, has been seen as a symbol of girls. Fairly sure that in "Family" the female cousin wears some shade of pink as well - ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Sep 26 2008 08:06 pm #13ya_lublyu_tebya Buffy and Spike sitting on the floor, playing cards at her birthday party from Hell. Older and Far Away. I love that scene - it's so... coupley. They're really flirty and playful in Older and Far Away. It gives you such hopes... and then they are all dashed to pieces! :-( Sep 26 2008 11:43 pm #14Spikez_tart nmc - thanks for pointing out the heart - I never noticed that. Warren must have stolen the pink skirt from his mother - obviously it didn't belong to Buffy. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? Sep 26 2008 11:51 pm #15chlarkspuffy One of my favourite cute hard-to-notice (sorta) scenes is from Something Blue when Spike holds up a skirt in front of him. "If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now." - Zaphod Beeblebrox Sep 27 2008 12:22 am #16TammyDevil666 And it was an ugly skirt, so the one that Buffybot was wearing could have been Buffy's for all we know, but somehow I really doubt it. She seems to have better taste than that, but it could have actually been Harmony's. Maybe something that she left behind, Spike could have given the clothes to Warren for him to put on the bot. I really don't see Spike wanting her to dress in Harmony's clothes, though. Sep 27 2008 01:27 am #17Scarlet Ibis When Buffy did wear skirts, pre-s5, they were all super short, or super long. This skirt is pink, pleated and in between. It couldn't be Harm's, because Buffy wouldn't be able to fit it. My guess is that the shirt the bot is wearing is Buffy's, and the jacket and skirt is something Spike nicked for the bot. The jacket is black leather, and kind of edgy (unless...were there sparklies of some kind on the front? Am I remembering that wrong?), and the skirt is very...modest and femine. Spike's ideal of Buffy is this in between of sexy and "old school" school girl with the skirt. And she's wearing high heels, which is also very un-Buffy, so I think he stole those too just for the bot. Or it was on loan from Warren. "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." https://www.facebook.com/FangirlNovel Sep 27 2008 01:52 am #18TammyDevil666 Hell, the clothes could be Warren's. He's a creepy little man, I wouldn't put cross-dressing past him. Sep 27 2008 01:58 am #19Guest One of his arms is on the ground in that cap (his right), don't know where the other might be. The skirt is a fun type if you're feeling girly - it would swish and spin. And for Spike, have plenty of access. CM Sep 27 2008 02:07 am #20Immortal Beloved He's a creepy little man, I wouldn't put cross-dressing past him. Hehehe. Good theory. I'm sure Spike stole the clothes either from a store or from Buffy. We already know that he's been stealing stuff from her house by "Intervention" time, and Warren does mention that Spike gave him a bunch of stuff for the bot. He probably stuck some clothes in there, too. Also, the black leather jacket is very Spike. Give me Spuffy, or give me death. Sep 28 2008 12:46 am #21slaymesoftly Hee! Funny theory - although anything that fits on Warren (am forgetting the actor's name ATM - Adam something) would be way too big for Buffy. He's actually fairly tall as BtVS males go. Of course, he may have had clothes sitting around left over from his robot - April. I am not a minion of Evil... I am upper management. Sep 28 2008 01:31 am #22TammyDevil666 Adam Busch, love him, can't stand Warren. I'm a big fan of his music. When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. Sep 28 2008 02:51 am #23Spikez_tart Never a dainty stiletto or anything. - Buffy wears some black high heels with stiletto's in S7 when she's working at the high school. She's in Wood's office talking to some kid, I think. The skirt - Maybe it belonged to Joyce. Can't be April's. Her skirts were always very short. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? Sep 28 2008 03:26 am #24Scarlet Ibis The skirt - Maybe it belonged to Joyce. Can't be April's. Her skirts were always very short. I agree that it wasn't April's, but I don't think it was Joyce's...Buffy can't fit Joyce's clothes, and also, I doubt Spike would dress her up in them if she did. I'm still going with Spike stole it specifically for his fantasy. "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." https://www.facebook.com/FangirlNovel I go with the "fantasy shirt" as well - the cousin, believe the name is Beth - wears girly pink also. The "fantasy" theme also goes with that super big heart grave stone - wish for a real love - like his first Buffy dream, he speaks of Love, Buffy speaks of lust. The more I watch the episodes again, the more I love this fabulous Spike character - just about all the other character, outside of Buffy and Giles seem to suffer from less "screen presence" whenever Spike is part of the scene. ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Sep 28 2008 06:39 pm #26Spikez_tart screen presence - Drusilla and Evil Angel hold their own, but as you say, Spike eats up the furniture and sucks all the air out of the room. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? screen presence - Drusilla and Evil Angel hold their own, but as you say, Spike eats up the furniture and sucks all the air out of the room. Agreed - Angelus and Dru have great screen presence - of the Demons - Dyhoffryn (sp?) also has these screen quality - ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Mar 09 2009 04:19 pm #28BloodyHell I didn't know where to put my question, so I settled on this thread, because the scene I'm looking for is cute - IMO. Do you know in which episode Buffy slaps Spike on the head? I have this scene in my head, kinda, but I don't know where to put it...Shame... Mar 09 2009 04:39 pm #29Scarlet Ibis She slaps him in the back of the head during "Pangs" when he's tied up, and slaps him on the face in "Out of My Mind" when he asked her "Oh no--is the enormous hall monitor sick?" "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." https://www.facebook.com/FangirlNovel Mar 09 2009 05:08 pm #30BloodyHell Mar 10 2009 04:32 pm #31Guest I think it's in Pangs, when Spike complains that Buffy is cutting off his circulation with ropes, and she says he doesn't have circulation, then he says it pinches, and she lightly smacks him on the back of the head and walks off. Mar 10 2009 07:49 pm #32Scarlet Ibis Yes, "Pangs" is the ep as guest pointed out, where Spike is slapped on the back of the head by Buffy. I'm pretty sure that's the only time where she slaps him on the back of the head... I don't know if you tried to post a screen cap or something, but it's not in the screen caps (at least not the ones I looked at). Watch the actual episode itself. "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." https://www.facebook.com/FangirlNovel This is one of the "Nice Moments" that I always like - considering how few times Buffy accepts his extended helping hand. Plus from a "Spuffy" kind-of-world, it happens when Spike helps her instead of Riley and all this Initiative Boys - who show up to late. Bad times for Riley and Buffy relationship as they are definitely going to break up and he will be leaving her behind. ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Mar 11 2009 10:26 am #34BloodyHell I don't know if you tried to post a screen cap or something, but it's not in the screen caps (at least not the ones I looked at). Watch the actual episode itself. I will do it when I have my DVDs back :) I love the hand-scene.He does have nice hands......:D Also in Pangs. . . just after finishing tying him up, when Buffy goes to leave Spike, she sets her hands on his shoulders for a moment as she walks away. CUTE/HEART-THROB MOMENT When Spike goes to Willow's dorm room and discovers he can't bite her, she is upset because she feels she is just his 2nd choice and he really was looking for Buffy. To cheer her up, he gives Willow the most lecherous grin I've ever seen. (Who knew lecherous could be so sexy?! I actually dream about that grin!!!!) Mar 18 2009 01:41 am #37Guest Can I just say, best topic ever? I did notice that scene from the end of Something Blue. When the camera pans over, it's plainly obvious that Buffy is, and has been, staring right at Spike, and Willow's approach sort of knocks her out of her reverie. The first time I saw that I had to backtrack and watch again, but there it was! Here is Buffy looking at Spike - just before Willow brings in her cookies - ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Mar 18 2009 07:20 am #39Guest Oh, that's a great look. It gives me much joy to think she's looking at Spike that way, but of course, Buffy is the Queen of Denial. -Tammy (she who is too lazy to sign in) | |||
